Spencer competes in state pageant

Jada Nicole Spencer, 11, daughter of Ronald and Yolanda Coleman, is a state finalist in the National American Miss Texas Pageant on June 8-9 in Houston.

The winner will receive $1,000 and other prizes and advance to the national competition in California.

Spencer also participates in cheerleading, gymnastics and volleyball and enjoys the step team at Timber Ridge Elementary. She also enjoys drawing, shopping for clothes at the mall with her mom and going to church.

Her sponsors include Willie’s Performance Automotive, Destiny World Outreach Center, Golden Chick, OK Cleaners, Glitz’s Hair Studio and Hobby Center.

Seton hospital honors volunteers

The Seton Medical Center Harker Heights Angel Auxiliary held its first volunteer recognition banquet April 25. Pam Craig, CNO, spoke about the value of service and the great appreciation Seton has for its volunteers. A blessing was offered by Jennifer Cobb, Seton chaplain.

Awards were presented by Craig, Cobb and Sonja Chupik, Seton volunteer coordinator.
