A wounded warrior nonprofit is hosting a fundraiser in Marble Falls this weekend.

Wheelers for the Wounded, an organization that helps wounded soldiers enjoy some no-cost outdoors recreation and adventure, will host a barbecue benefit and raffle from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Hidden Falls Adventure Park in Marble Falls. There will be a silent auction, a bounce house for children and other contests.

All proceeds will be donated to the Wheelers for the Wounded program.

“It’s a great event,” said Shawlyn Fraughton, board member for the nonprofit. “Every year we’ve done this for the last six years, so it’s just another event we’re looking forward to doing. We’re looking forward to supporting our soldiers and letting them know they are appreciated.”

The funds raised Saturday go to support an event for Fort Hood soldiers May 3. Troops will be brought to Hidden Falls, a more than 3,000-acre park, for off-road riding with volunteers.

“My husband started seven years ago volunteering,” Fraughton said. Now the couple continues to volunteer their rig and time.
