Killeen city pools are reopening this weekend for the Labor Day holiday.

The Family Aquatics Center, 1800 E. Stan Schlueter Loop, is open from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Beginning Tuesday, the aquatics center will be closed to the general public, but can still be reserved for private weekend parties through Sept. 14.

“Opening the pools and water park for Labor Day weekend gives residents entertainment options close to home,” said Hilary Shine, city spokeswoman. “We hope people will come out and enjoy the facilities one last time before they close until Memorial Day.”

Long Branch Pool, 1101 Branch Drive, is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday through Monday, then it closes until Memorial Day weekend.

Shine said due to maintenance issues, Pershing Park Pool will remain closed this weekend. The Long Branch Park Spray Pad will remain open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Oct. 5.
