The Mayborn Science Theater, located on the campus of Central Texas College, will offer a matinee triple-header on Memorial Day. Matinee tickets are $4 per person, per show.

The show lineup starts at 1:30 p.m. with “Super Volcanoes.” This show explores rare types of volcanic eruptions that marshal the energy lurking, like a sleeping dragon beneath the surface of planet Earth.

At 2:30 p.m., “Dynamic Earth” takes viewers on a journey to the inner workings of the Earth’s climate system. Narrated by Liam Neeson, this cutting-edge film offers visualizations based on satellite monitoring data and advanced supercomputer simulations.

The schedule concludes with “Black Holes: The Other Side of Infinity” at 3:30 p.m. Audiences will be dazzled by striking, immersive animations of the formation of the early universe, star birth and death, the collision of giant galaxies and a simulated flight to a super massive black hole lurking at the center of the Milky Way galaxy.
