Children jumped out of their school desks and climbed onto saddles during the first week of the Cowboy Camp at BLORA Ranch.
Ranch wranglers used cleaning stalls, feeding animals and horseback riding as tools to help teach self-esteem, confidence and responsibility. Campers also get to swim, fish, eat breakfast with cowboys, and do horse crafts.
The camp, which is open to ages 7 through 16, continues Tuesday through Friday; July 9-12; and July 23-26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children can attend one or all four days each week.
