Stand-up for a different Valentine’s Day

Ditch the flowers and candy, dress to impress and take your sweetheart to Temple’s Cultural Activities Center for the Valentine’s Day “Red Carpet Comedy Show” starring comics from BET’s “Comic View.” On tour with “Nephew Tommy,” host Terry Gross and two other nationally known comedians will perform onstage in an evening of stand-up talent.

Terry “Grossman” Gross hails from Houston and is a 17-year veteran whose outrageous antics have earned him stints on BET’s “Comic View” and “Showtime at the Apollo.” He’s opened for music legends Patti LaBelle and Maze and shared the stage with the original Kings of Comedy, which included Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, D.L. Hughley and Bernie Mac.

Seen on BET’s hit show “Coming to the Stage,” the comedian known as “Blame” also worked with Bill Bellamy and Nephew Tommy of the Steve Harvey Show. He’s been assuming co-hosting duties while on tour with Nephew Tommy, and received accolades from critics for his camaraderie with other comics as well as his audience rapport.

Headliner Michael Prince, a native of Tifton, Ga., toured with HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and appeared on BET’s “Comic View.” His big screen credits include the Oliver Stone film “Any Given Sunday,” and he performs regularly at the Improv in Addison when not on the road.
