BELTON — On the heels of a national television performance with rap icon Nelly and a bevy of annual music awards and nominations, the country rock duo known as Florida Georgia Line will make their Bell County debut Saturday at the Bell County Expo Center.

This month, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard won four major music awards, taking home “Vocal Duo of the Year” and “Single of the Year” at the Country Music Association Awards and “Single of the Year” at the American Music Awards. The duo also was nominated for five other awards between the two showcases, including “New Artist of the Year” and “Favorite Country Album.”

The success of their single “Cruise,” which won both Single of the Year awards and was remixed with Nelly, has led to widespread notoriety.

When Florida Georgia Line was originally booked at the Bell County Expo, the duo was an up-and-comer with a strong fan base. Now the band has blossomed into a bonafide household name.

Ashley Bland, Bell County Expo Center convention sales and marketing coordinator, said this show is expected to be among the largest at the Expo Center this year, with an audience anticipated to exceed 5,000.

“They’ve really blown up since we announced the show (last summer),” Bland said. “They’re bigger than anticipated and probably more (popular) than anticipated.”

The modern country rock act is something new for the Expo Center, which more often features classic country performers rather than hard-rocking modern ones, Bland said.

“Their album’s titled ‘Here’s to the Good Times’ so you know they’re going to be loud and jumping around ... just nonstop action,” she said. “They’re performers so it’s going to make for an exciting show.”

Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Bell County Expo Center box office or at Texas Box Office outlets, such as select H-E-B stores, online at texasboxoffice.com or by calling 512-477-6060. Reserved floor and lower-section seats are $34.75. Reserved upper-section seats are $29.75. Fees and service charges may apply.

Special musical guests Colt Ford and Dallas Smith will open the show starting at 7:30 p.m. For more information on Florida Georgia Line, go to floridageorgialine.com.
