Clap your hands and stomp your feet in time with music from acclaimed fiddlers and recording artists during the 17th annual Texas Western Showcase on Saturday at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton.
Entertainment starts at noon with an all-star show of Western Swing giants, including Randy Elmore, Bobby Flores, Ricky Turpin and Wes Westmoreland.
“The purpose of the event is to promote ‘Texas Born’ music and assemble extremely talented musicians on our stage,” according to a news release from the Texas Western Swing Heritage Association of Bell County, which organizes the show and a dance that follows Saturday night.
Doors open at 11 a.m. for the afternoon entertainment, which wraps up at 5 p.m. The dance, with live music by Bobby Flores and his Yellow Rose Band, is from 8 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $20 for the afternoon of music and $20 for the dance, and can be purchased at the door.
