Best Bets

  • Central Texas College and LULAC 4535 will host the second annual Calaveritas Festival to celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) today at the courtyard between the Anderson Campus Center (Bldg. 156) and the Student Center (Bldg. 106) starting at 4 p.m. The festival activities include song and dance performances, music, costume contest, vendors and an all souls’ procession at 4:45 p.m.
  • The Central Texas Astronomical Society plans its next Bell County Star Party at 6 p.m. Saturday at Overlook Park, near Stillhouse Hollow Lake outside Belton. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, go to www.centexastronomy.org.

  • The JLBC’s annual fundraiser, Cowboys and Caviar, will be at Cathedral Oaks in Belton from 8 p.m. to midnight Nov. 10. The night of fundraising will include music by Brian Gowan, complimentary beer and wine, Hors d’oeuvres, and both a live and silent auction. The ticket price is $50 per person.   • Armed Forces Natural Hair & Health Expo is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center.
