Best Bets

Vendor spaces for Barktoberfest 2012 are available through today at Killeen Community Center, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd. The event for dogs and their human companions is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 6 at Lions Club Park, 1700 E. Stan Schlueter Loop. Competitions, such as a pooch pageant, are free with on-site registration. An off-leash play area, pet item vendors and demonstrations will be available, and dogs will be welcome to swim.
