Best Bets

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Music Department will host the 12th annual Percussion Festival this weekend. It kicks off with a free concert at 7:30 p.m. today, featuring the UMHB Percussion Ensemble and guest percussion artist and award-winning composer Casey Cangelosi, in Hughes Recital Hall. Cangelosi will teach a master class to area percussion students at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Hughes Recital Hall. Both events are free and open to the public.

Local Music

The Mark Richey Band performs from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. today at Bo’s Barn Dancehall at 4984 W. Farm-to-Market 93 in Temple. Cover charge is $8.

The People’s Choice Band is Saturday night’s featured entertainment from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Cover charge is $10.

The Harker Heights High School Choir presents The Knight Club Feb. 8-9. Students will perform musical hits with a live band and professional light show at 7 p.m. in the HHHS Auditorium. The Central Texas ALL-STARZZ AAU basketball team will take on the Harlem Ambassadors in a fundraising game at 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Copperas Cove High School Gym 2.
