Students complete Central Texas College EMT program
Central Texas College held a course completion ceremony for students in the school’s Emergency Medical Technology/Paramedic program on Aug. 9 in the Anderson Campus Center. Twenty-three students were recognized for completing the certificate program.
Students completing the CTC EMT-Paramedic certificate of completion program from Killeen were Joseph Durham, Matthew Harper, Matthew Manewal, Edgardo Melendez-Rivera, Christopher Poston, Cassidy Ribar, Amanda Warren and Cody Winniford.
Graduates from Gatesville were Francine Baker, Daniel Lay and Jamison Ochoa. Graduates from Florence were Christian Bohannon and Randy Stevens.
Other graduates were Justin Hamilton of Nolanville, Bradley Jansen of Georgetown, Alan Mainville of Copperas Cove, Jonathan Mills of Temple, Richard Neagle of Harker Heights, William Schwartz of Fort Hood, Justin Selvera of Belton, Colby Sexton of Aquilla, Richard White of Lampasas and Ethan Williams of Salado.
CTC offers the EMT program as a one-year certificate program or a two-year credit program (67 credit hours) leading to an associate degree in applied science. Upon successful completion of EMSP 1401 and EMSP 1160, students are eligible to take the exam to become certified as an EMT by the Texas Department of Health and/or the National Registry of EMTs.

CTC vocational nursing students get pins after completing program
The Central Texas College Nursing Department held a pinning ceremony Aug. 9 in the Anderson Campus Center to honor 16 students who completed the vocational nursing (LVN) program. Graduates received their nursing pins upon completing 70 credit hours of course work.
The pinning event featured the traditional candle lighting ceremony which serves as a tribute to the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale. The pin each student received symbolizes a medal of excellence which Nightingale presented to her outstanding graduate nurses.
The CTC graduates are: Johnathon Bisson, Heather Courtney, Kayla Crow, Christina Deasy, Jennifer Ervin, Jodi Eyer, Amber Cothery-Jackson, Deborah Prince, Maria Ramon, Kara Richardson, Angela Saldana, Lauren Taylor, Michele Vaughn, Kristin Vidak, Pamela Williams and Stephanie Woollen.
The CTC vocational nursing program is approved by the Texas Board of Nursing.
