Gamers battled to the death in Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 in the gaming room Friday and pirates fought off zombie attacks Saturday during Central Texas College’s GeekFest 2013.
The three-day festival offers everything from anime to ZPG. GeekFest began as a fundraiser for the CTC Ambassador program and has since taken on a life of its own. Serious gamers, animators and artists participate.
For the more studious, there are workshops, such as 2D/3D animation, a beginner’s guide to makeup and comics from thumbnail to finish.
For those just looking to geek out on their favorite gaming systems, there are fighting games and first-person shooter free play and tournaments as well as Wii games. Contests for artists or designers wanting to showcase their skills and special guests are on the bill, too.
Today’s events begin at 10 a.m. with shows, open play gaming and a robotics demonstration in the planetarium. Vendors, entertainment and food are available at the Anderson Campus Center building from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
