Epiphany Celebration scheduled for Sunday

Fort Hood Area Ultreya of the Diocese of Austin English Cursillo will have its annual Epiphany Celebration from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church in the Neumann Room.

This will take the place of the monthly Ultreya.

Bring a nonperishable food item for the annual donation to the food pantry, along with a potluck dish. Meat will be provided.

Money management workshop planned

A Tax Savings & Money Management Workshop will be offered Monday in the Ministry of Hope & Reconciliation building, across from Killeen High School, 425 N. 38th St., Killeen.

The instructor is Ivory L. Mims, of iMG Enterprises Inc.

Adult Bible study class resumes Monday

The Temple-Belton Community Bible Study adult co-ed evening class resumes the study of Romans at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the small sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Belton, at Sixth and Main streets.

The introductory session is for anyone interested in learning more about the Bible study and registering for the in-depth interdenominational study.

The class is open to all adults.

Individuals may choose to participate in core groups for young adults, men, women or married couples.

Each week, participants receive a reading commentary on the previous week’s topic and a set of questions to work on each day covering the next week’s reading.

On Monday nights, these questions will be discussed in small groups.

After the small groups meet, there is a short lecture over the same section of Scripture.

The class breaks for spring vacation and finishes April 28.

Ministers, chaplains to gather for luncheon

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship monthly prayer luncheon is at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at East Side Baptist Church, 500 N. W.S. Young Drive.

All area pastors, ministers and chaplains are invited. Senior pastors who are unable to attend are encouraged to send a representative.

A complimentary lunch will be provided.

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship is an informal organization whose goal is to strengthen relationships among the spiritual leaders of the community.

There are no dues or fees. Membership is open to all pastors, ministers and chaplains in the area. The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month for fellowship and prayer.

Killeen Healing Rooms offer prayer teams

The Killeen Healing Rooms will be open from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 11 in the KPLE-TV building at 502 E. Elms Road in Killeen.

The group’s commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Prayer teams will seek healing in the name of Jesus Christ.

Award-winning singer to perform Thursday

The Women’s Enrichment Ministry of First Baptist Church Killeen is hosting Shellie O’Neal, award-winning playwright, actor, singer and teacher, who portrays Fanny Crosby, one of the world’s most inspirational women, in a performance of story and song from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The $10 ticket includes the meal and child care.

Event to raise money for Bricks 4 Lymphoma

Cassie’s Bricks 4 Lymphoma fundraiser is from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at Hillside Ministries, 3601 Edgefield St., Killeen.

Bricks 4 Lymphoma is a fun-filled family-friendly event to raise funds and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in conjunction with the Team In Training program.

Dinner proceeds to help maternity shelter

The 11th annual Our Lady of the Angels Maternity Shelter Banquet is from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton.

This year’s banquet will feature Sister Teresa Cruz, International Leadership Council for the Cordi-Marian Sisters and First House Parent at OLAMS. 

A social hour is from 6 to 7 p.m. Dinner and a program are from 7:15 to 9 p.m.

All proceeds from the banquet will be used for operating and maintaining the shelter.
