Awana Program open to children

Hillside Ministries Killeen offers the Awana Program for children age 2 through sixth grade.

Cove church to hold service at city park

St. Martin’s Episcopal Church will host a church service and potluck at 11 a.m. Sunday in Copperas Cove City Park.

Aglow meeting set for Tuesday

Aglow International is having its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at 502 Elms Road, Suite C, Killeen (KPLE -TV building).

The meeting is free of charge and is interdenominational.

Women and men are welcome to come worship, hear the word and receive prayer ministry as desired.

This month’s speaker is the Rev. Elaine Pope.

Killeen Healing Rooms open Oct. 13

The Killeen Healing Rooms will be open from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 13 in the KPLE-TV building at 502 E. Elms Road in Killeen.

The commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe...they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Prayer teams will be available to pray for healing in the Name of Jesus Christ.

The desire is to bring together believers from all over the community to pray for the sick and see miracles happen.

Pumpkin Patch open daily through Oct. 31

Pumpkin Patch, hosted by First United Methodist Church, is open daily, through Oct. 31 at 601 E. Farm-to-Market 2410 in Harker Heights.

Pumpkin prices vary.

A carnival with hay rides, petting zoo, rock wall, food, pony rides and games will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 13.

Program to raise scholarship funds

“Simply Worship In Spirit and In Truth — The Woman At the Well” begins at 3 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Killeen Arts and Activity Center, 802 N. Second St., Killeen.

Like the Samatarian woman, everyone has a past and a future.

The program is presented by The Crown Him Lord Dance Company. The guest psalmist is Dana Holcomb and Minister of Ceremonies is Charlotte Holcomb.

Worshippers from different churches will minister the Word of God through dance, mime, choreo-drama and singing.

Tickets, $8 in advance, may be purchased at 1028 S. Fort Hood St., Killeen.

Groups of 10 or more will get a special rate.

Tickets at the door are $10 each. Doors open at 1 p.m.

Vendors on site will offer praise garments, instruments, jewelry, purses and more.

Proceeds from this event will go toward the Alicia Esther Dykes Worship Arts Scholarship Fund, which gives students who are financially unstable the opportunity to attend the school at a discounted price or tuition free.

Gospel Music Jamboree set Oct. 13

Robertson Avenue Baptist Church is having a Gospel Music Jamboree from noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 13.

Gospel artists to perform at Bible Way

The Divine Messengers will be celebrating 10 years of ministering to souls through music at 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church.

The theme is “We’re called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

Also performing will be Gospel recording artist The Gospel Holy Tones of Temple, The Heavenly Jubilees and Gospel recording artist The Gospel Sons Quartet of Waco.

This event is free to the public.

Church Brotherhood to hold car wash

Brotherhood car wash is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 13 at Second Street Baptist Church.

A garage sale is from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A fish fry will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be fish sandwiches and fish plates with coleslaw, fries and a drink. Children’s plate will be hot dog, fries and a drink.

The public is invited.

Children invited to White Sunday service

White Sunday service, “Big God, Big Me,” starts at 11 a.m. Oct. 14 at the BOC Church, 211 W. Hallmark Ave. in Killeen.

Somoan churches all over the world have kept the rich tradition of White Sunday for more than a century. Its been carried on to this generation to celebrate as their Children’s Day — Lotu Tamaiti.

The children are given the opportunity to minister during the service with their musical and dancing talent. They also lead and conduct the worship on this very special day.

All children of the community are invited to come as the church honors this very special day for them.

Grace Lutheran Church selects top volunteers

Anna Bayer and Steve Bell were recently selected as Volunteers of the Quarter, July-September 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church in Killeen.

Anna Bayer serves on the board of trustees and recently served as the “foreman” in the painting of the Parish Hall.

Steve Bell has held several positions at Grace, serving as a lay minister and as the past executive director of the congregation. He also is an active member of the men’s club. During his week of vacation recently, Steve spent most of his time painting the Parish Hall.

Women’s ministry to host 3K, 5K Fun Run

The third annual 3K and 5K Fun Run, hosted by the Women’s Ministry of Christ the King Catholic Church, is set for Oct. 14.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. at 210 E. 24th Ave. in Belton. Start time is at noon.

This is a non-sanctioned run.

Participants may run, walk, stroll or push a stroller.

Routes include both 3K and 5K options in neighborhoods adjacent to the church property.

Registration is $15 for adults and $10 for children. The first 350 registrants receive a T-shirt.

Non-participants are welcome to relax, eat, watch and wait for friends to finish the course.

Food available for purchase will include chopped barbecue sandwiches, nachos, fruit, brownies, cookies and drinks.

Raffle items include: an iPad 2, $200 H-E-B gift card, restaurant gift certificates and a basket full of sports items.

A Chinese raffle for baskets with garden, entertainment, religious, travel or household items will be held. Drawings for raffle items will be at 1:30 p.m.

Greater Peace to honor pastor

Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church family will celebrate Appreciation Services for Pastor J.A. Moland and Sister Felicia Moland at 3 p.m. Oct. 14.

Guest speaker is Pastor S. D. McMullen and the Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church in Copperas Cove.

Dr. Patti Amsden’s seminars set Oct. 20

Dr. Patti Amsden “Portal’s” Releasing the Power and Presence of God Into The Earth is Oct. 20 at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center.

Compass Ministries invites the public to join them for five to six hours of instruction/impartation with Amsden.

Spiritual meetings set at First Baptist

Kevin Kirkland from Katalyst Ministries will be leading a series of spiritual awakening meetings at First Baptist Killeen.

Spiritual Awakening is at 9 and 11 a.m. Oct. 21 and at 7 p.m. Oct. 25-27.

Trunk or Treat, from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31, offers a wholesome awesome alternative to Halloween.

All ages are invited. Wear your favorite costume. Please do not wear scary or evil costumes.

No child care available.

The 2012 Christian Car and Bike Show is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 3.

Entry fee is canned goods for the Killeen Food Care Center.

Silent auction is for 2002 Firebird.

This event is presented by the Holy Rollerz Christian Car Club and Priesthood Motorcycle Ministries.

Public invited to St. Joseph fall fest

St. Joseph Fall Fest of All is set for Oct. 21 on the church grounds at 2903 E. Rancier Ave. in Killeen.

More than $18,000 in prizes will be given away: first-place prize, $5,000 Visa gift card; second-place prize, $3,000 Visa gift card; third-place prize, $1,000 gift card; fourth-place prize, TV; fifth place prize, Apple Ipad; and sixth place prize, Kindle Fire.

A grand prize drawing will be held about 6 p.m.

Raffle tickets are $4 each or a book of six for $20. Entrants do not have to be present to win. Winners will be notified by the chairman.

‘Phenomenal Woman’ event Oct. 26-27

Janice Davis Ministries and The Daughters of Zion present “Phenomenal Woman, who is she,” Oct. 26-27 at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center.

“Spiritual Rejuvenation” service starts at 9 a.m. Oct. 26. Special guest for both evenings is Flag Ambassador, Pastor Adrienne Rowe.

Conference host is Apostle Janice Davis, World Renowned Ministries International in Leander.

Bishop Michael Price, Gates of Dominion International Ministries in Austin, will speak at 7 p.m. Friday.

Scheduled to speak at 10 a.m. Saturday is Dr. Apostle B. Cherry-Taylor of Temple of Praise International Cathedral in Lafayette, La.

Recording artist, Pastor Jacci Copeland of Redeeming Grace Christian Church in San Antonio, also attend.
