Knights of Columbus to host Mardi Gras dinner

Knights of Columbus, Thomas P. Shields Assembly 2370 will have a Mardi Gras dinner and cCelebration at 6 p.m. today at the St. Paul Chong Hasang Parish Center at 2412 Stillhouse Lake Road in Harker Heights (next to the church).

The menu will have sausage and chicken gumbo, cajun baked chicken, fried catfish, etouffe sauce, 3 bean salad, cornbread mini muffins, fried okra, king cake, beer, wine, coffee, tea, and lemonade.

There will be a live band and dancing. There will be prizes for best costume. The cost is $25 per person, $45 per couple or $175 for a table of eight.

Knights of Columbus plans Polish dinner

Knights of Columbus will host its annual Polish dinner from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Knights of Columbus Hall on 6830 Farm-to-Market 2657 in Copperas Cove. The menu consists of golombki, kielbasa, lazy pierogi, pierogi, and chrusciki for dessert.

There will be polka music for your entertainment. Tickets are $15 per person.

Killeen church offers free clothing Wednesdays

East Lake Baptist Church offers free school uniforms and clothing from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays.

Faith and Recovery Group meetings for alcoholism are Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Second Street Baptist Church.

Heights church to host empowerment gathering

The Texas Southeast C.H. Mason District Empowerment Conference will take place Wednesday through Friday at the Garden of Gethsemane COGIC.

The speaker on Wednesday will be Bishop Ladell Thomas Jr., pastor of Cathedral of Deliverance and Praise in Harker Heights.

On Thursday, the speaker will be evangelist Kristen Butler of Perfecting Faith Church in Killeen.

Friday’s speaker will be Robert Curtis, pastor of New Life Prayer Fellowship in Temple. All sessions start at 7:30 p.m. The church is at 111 E. Cox Drive in Harker Heights.

Ladies In Prayer Station to meet March 4

The Ladies In Prayer Station will be at the Courtyard by Marriott at 9 a.m. March 4. All are invited.

The group will meet again at 5 p.m. Lips will be a part of the Helping the Hands that Feed the Homeless during the evening program that is spearheaded by Missionary Theresa Anderson. Contact person is Mother Lillian Billie at 254-466-7463.

Divine Messengers to release debut CD

The Divine Messengers will release their debut CD, titled “God Will Supply,” at 4 p.m. March 4 at the fourth annual Central Texas gospel quartet explosion, Westside Baptist Church, 711 Stagecoach Road in Killeen.
