Day of prayer set for today at Fort Hood

Greater Fort Hood Day of Prayer and Fellowship is from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Spiritual Fitness Center, 33rd Street and Battalion Avenue, at Fort Hood.

A complimentary breakfast and lunch will be provided.

All pastors, chaplains and anyone interested are invited.

“Strategies for Regional Transformation,” presented by Apostles Jim and Jean Hodges and Prophets Samuel and Nancy Brassfield, is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. today at the Holiday Inn, 300 E. Central Texas Expressway in Killeen.

Session times are 9:30 a.m., and 2 and 7 p.m.

Ministry to dedicate lecture hall Sunday

Sonship School of the Firstborn will have a dedication ceremony celebrating the completion of the lecture hall beginning at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at 2904 E. Stan Schlueter Loop in Killeen.

The school, a two-year certification program, trains Christians to be more effective servants of God and church. Classes are scheduled to be held in hall.

The school is an outreach ministry of the Cathedral of Central Texas and Christian House of Prayer Ministries, Inc.

Heights church to mark 6th anniversary Sunday

The Harker Heights Community Church will celebrate its sixth church anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday.

Healing Rooms teams available Tuesday

The Killeen Healing Rooms are open from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the KPLE-TV building at 502 E. Elms Road in Killeen.

The group’s commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Prayer teams will be available to seek healing in the name of Christ.

Skyline names leader

of AWANA program

Skyline Baptist Church announces the appointment of Bill Kingston as the commander of Skyline AWANA unit.

Skyline offers the AWANA program for all children ages pre-k to sixth grade from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays at the Family Activities Center.

Children are placed in classes according to their ages, and they receive individual and group instruction.

Wednesday evening services are available for adults during the AWANA meeting time.

Christian comedy show scheduled Feb. 1

Marcus D. Wiley of the Yolanda Adams Morning Show will headline the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Show in Harker Heights.

The Christian comedy show, a family event, will also feature comedians T. Bryant, White Chocolate and FLO.

The show starts at 7 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Harker Heights Events Center,

Doors open at 6 p.m.

Gospel music quartet

The Harvesters, a southern gospel music quartet, will sing at the 9 a.m. service Feb. 2 at Crossroads Church, 3102 S. Fort Hood St. in Killeen.

“Facing the Truth,” a women’s conference presented by True Deliverance Ministries International, is set for Feb. 5-7 at 7 p.m.

Anderson Chapel AME plans anniversary dinner

Anderson Chapel AME Church’s 50th anniversary banquet will begin at 6 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Killeen.

Fred Hammond, a world-renowned gospel singer, songwriter and record producer, is the special guest.

Proceeds will go toward the Marion J. and Alice W. Douse Community Center, with groundbreaking for the center set for Feb. 9.

Pausitive Band concert set for Wednesday

The Pausitive Band will present a concert at Pidcoke Baptist Church at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The Pausitive Band is a family of singers and instrumentalists from Goldthwaite.

The band’s songs include traditional country, new country, country gospel and some pop. Recently, the band received the “Rising Star” award from the Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame.

Pidcoke Baptist Church is on Farm-to-Market 116 between Copperas Cove and Gatesville.

Everyone is invited.

A time of fellowship with light snacks will be shared after the concert.
