Family Week to start at LifeWay Fellowship

LifeWay Fellowship will celebrate Family Week, June 18-22 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. each evening.

Preschoolers and children will have vacation Bible school material and youth will be doing Max and Jenna Lucado's series, "Made To Make A Difference."

Adults can choose from three classes: "Worship-More Than Music" led by Paul Q-Pek, "Families Are Important" by Ron Harris or a smorgasbord of different topics by a different leader each night.

On Friday evening, bring a lawn chair and snack for a time of fellowship outside. There will be food, music, a bounce house, volleyball and lots of fellowship.

Healing Rooms open today at KPLE

The Killeen Healing Rooms, under the covering of the International Association of Healing Rooms, are open today and every second Saturday of each month.

The group is located in the KPLE-TV building at 502 E. Elms Road from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Music Jamboree starts at noon

A good old Gospel Music Jamboree is from noon to 6 p.m. today at Robertson Avenue Baptist Church.

Several individuals and groups from the area and outside the area will perform. The event takes place the second Saturday of each month with plenty of music, food and fellowship.

The church is at 304 E. Robertson Avenue, across the street from Walgreens, in Copperas Cove.

Bible Way to host annual celebration

The 32nd annual Pastor's Appreciation celebration for the Rev. S.D. McMullen, pastor of Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church is set for today and Sunday.

A pre-appreciation celebration begins at 7 p.m. today with guest speaker, Pastor DeWayne Butler of Higher Ground COGIC, Riverside, Calif. Musical selections will be by Pastor Don Siler of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Riverside, Calif.

The youth are in charge of Sunday's 11 a.m. worship service. Pastor Joshua Joubert of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in San Antonio is the speaker.

The public is invited.

Simmonsville to host Women's Day

Simmonsville Missionary Baptist Church's annual Women's Day Program begins at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Dr. Monty Francis is the guest speaker.

Francis is the director of student assessment at El Centro College. He is also an Old Testament and New Testament studies instructor.

Missionary pilot to speak at LifeWay

Lance Erickson, a South American missionary pilot, will speak at all three Sunday morning worship celebrations Sunday at LifeWay Fellowship.

Church to celebrate 54th anniversary

God's Holy Tabernacle COGIC will celebrate their 54th church anniversary at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Speaker for the occasion is Superintendent Limmie Collins, pastor of Deliverance Temple COGIC in Austin.

Rev. Ingram keynote speaker at Anderson

Anderson Chapel A. M. E. Church will hold an Emphasis on Education Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Keynote speaker is the Rev. Dr. Daryl B. Ingram. The Rev. Dr. William M. Campbell Jr. is the senior pastor.

Dr. Ingram was elected the fifth Executive Director of the Christian Education Department of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 2004.

Dr. Ingram was for 15 years director of Christian Education in the Tenth Episcopal District, 30 years as a church school teacher, workshop leader, and facilitator, and a founding member of the A.M.E. Church Fellowship of Christian Educators.

This year the church will celebrate the graduation of four high school students and three college students from the congregation. The Scholarship Ministry of the church will give monetary awards to each student and announce the winners of its scholarships at the Sunday service.

Public invited to Aglow meeting

Aglow International, Killeen Lighthouse, invites the public to a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at The Residence Inn Marriott, 600 E. Central Texas Expressway, service road between Florence and Trimmier roads.

Theresa Lemke, the speaker, is a wife, mother of four, and grandmother of three. She teaches in the public school system as well as her church.

Killeen church to host Praise Revival

Killeen Annual City-Wide Power Praise Revival is Wednesday through Friday, beginning at 7 nightly.

Wednesday's speaker is Bishop D. Jackson, Bountiful Blessings Full Gospel Ministry, Harker Heights.

Thursday's speaker will be Pastor Haywood Polk of Exalted Praise, Harker Heights.

Friday's speaker is Pastor Virgil Allgood, New Bethel C.W.C., Killeen.

Pastor Appreciation begins Thursday

Crestview Christian Church is having its Pastor's Appreciation Service beginning Thursday and continuing through June 17.

Services Thursday through June 16 will be held at 7, nightly with speakers from the community.

The guest speaker for 3:30 p.m. June 17 is Pastor Clint Graves of Clay Street Christian Church in Waco.

Open Arms Outreach to hold clothes closet

Open Arms Outreach will hold its free monthly clothes closet beginning at 9 a.m. June 16 at 409 N. Eighth St. in Killeen. In addition, free breakfast foods will be served to the public.

This ministry serves the community by providing emergency food, clothing, toiletry items, and financial assistance and counseling. It also operates an adult literacy program and tutoring for school-age children.

Annual June Council open to local churches

Greater Christ Gospel Apostolic Church will hold its 13th Annual June Council on June 13-15 at 7 p.m..

The council will conclude with Christian Education Day from 9 a.m. noon June 16.

Bishop Mack Thomas Jr. is the pastor. This revival is open to the public and local churches.

Davis selected as Volunteer of the Quarter

Jane Davis recently was selected the Volunteer of the Quarter, April-June 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church in Killeen.

Davis has taken a quiet yet extremely active role in the congregation through the helping with vacation Bible school, Sunday school and the Vocational Life Academy.

She has also served as co-treasurer for the school this year with her husband, Joe (taking over sole responsibility when he left the area to attend school) and served in the classroom as volunteer and head room parent for activities.

Copperas Cove church to show video series

The Copperas Cove Church of Christ will host a Max Lucado Video Series titled "Max on Life."

A series of eight sessions will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday evenings beginning June 17.

Topics include: Hope, Hurt, Help, Him-Her, Home, Hereafter, Humanity, and Haves-Have Nots.

There is no cost to attend, and everyone is invited to attend.

University classes set at First Methodist

Financial Peace University will be held in Killeen at First United Methodist Church, 3501 E. Elms Road in Killeen.

The classes will begin June 24 at 5 p.m.

The class teaches families and individuals common-sense principles like how to make a plan with their money so they are able to free themselves of debt.

Dance academy to present encore June 30

In His Presence Dance Academy will present an encore of "Arise! Show Us Your Glory - The Story of Moses" at the Killeen Arts & Activity Center at 3 p.m. June 30.

Rivers of Living Waters Ministry presents play

Rivers of Living Waters Ministry presents the gospel play, "So Many Secrets, So Many Lies," on June 16.

Doors open at 4 p.m. pre-show concert starts at 4:30 p.m. The show starts at 5 p.m.

A requested donation of $15 will go to the Word of Life Substance Abuse Treatment Center.
