New Sunset plans special events

“Christ in the Passover,” presented by Karol Joseph with Jews for Jesus, is from 6 to 7:15 p.m. today at New Sunset Community Church.

Joseph will present the Passover elements as revealed in the Old Testament and demonstrates how Jesus fulfilled them all in His birth, ministry, death and resurrection.

Special worship music is by “Anointed” from First Baptist-Killeen.

This event is free to all.

Easter egg hunts, hot dogs, music, bouncy houses and door prizes are from 2 to 5 p.m. March 30.

Live music features Renegade Redeemed and Unscripted.

The event is free to the public.

Gathering to focus on spiritual issues

Out-of-body and near-death experiences, inner light or sound, sense of living before, and dreams of departed loved ones are among the topics to be discussed today at the Killeen Community Center.

The free discussions are from 12:30 to 2 p.m. today in room 110, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd.

Texas Satsang Society Inc. of San Antonio will present the session.

St. Joseph offering citizenship classes

Citizenship and English classes begin today at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 1 to 3 p.m.

The instructor is retired Staff Sgt. Rudy A. Calooy, a combat infantry platoon sergeant who fought in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Calooy became a U.S. citizen after serving in the Korean War.

The free classes will continue every Saturday in the church’s recreation hall, 2903 E. Rancier Ave., Killeen.

First COGIC to host spring fashion show

A fashion show, Jump Into Spring Extravaganza, is at 3 p.m. today.

Hosted by the Women’s Department of First COGIC, the show’s tickets are $10 per person and $5 for children 12 years of age and younger.

Pastor, wife marking 30th anniversary

Simmonsville Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate the final hour of their pastor and wife’s 30th anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday.

Helping to close out the final hour will be Pastor Gary Wood and his congregation from Pentecost Missionary Baptist Church of Slidell, La.

Easter musical at First Baptist-Trimmier

Healing rooms open Tuesday

The Killeen Healing Rooms will be open from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the KPLE-TV building, 502 E. Elms Road, Killeen.

The group’s commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” We will have prayer teams available.

The ladies of the Youngsport Church of Christ invites all ladies to join them for a fun-filled day of inspiration, fellowship and Biblical study April 13.

Marie Frith leads a discussion on the topic of Faith, centered around Hebrews 11.

Live Action founder to share her story

Hope Pregnancy Center’s 33rd annual banquet fundraiser will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 16 at the Bell County Expo Center, Garth Arena.

Keynote speaker is Lila Rose, an advocate for life and founder of the organization Live Action. Rose shares her story of investigative journalism in abortion clinics across the country.

Individual tickets are $35.

Table sponsorships begin at $250 and include seating for eight people for the buffet style dinner.

In addition to the program and meal, all sponsorships will receive two tickets to a VIP reception with Rose.

Golf tournament to benefit ministry

The annual Harold Ellis Memorial Golf Tournament is April 22 at the Mill Creek Golf Club in Salado.

Cost is $100 per player.

Hole in One prize is a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro donated by Don Ringler Chevrolet-Toyota.

Other prizes will be awarded.

Lunch and range balls are at 11 a.m.

Putting contest with details and sign up at registration site begins at noon.

Shotgun start, scramble format, is at 1 p.m.

The fundraiser benefits the juvenile and adult programs of the Jesus Acts in Inmates Lives, J.A.I.L., Ministry Inc.

Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered recovery program, meets from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays at Hillside Ministries.
