Church offering special series of services

Immanuel Lutheran Church in Killeen will celebrate Transfiguration of Our Lord Sunday with services at 8 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Bible study for all ages is at 9:15 a.m.

The church also will offer At the Crossroads, a special series of services for the season of Lent.

Each service in the series reveals in some way how Christ and his cross lead people to decide the path of God’s will in the many crossroads of their lives.

During the Ash Wednesday service of this series, the psalmist David reaches the crossroads of confession and confesses his sins to the Lord. Believers are called to confess their sins to the Son of David and find forgiveness in him.

The service includes an Imposition of Ashes, readings from Scripture, a sermon dialogue with David and hymns that help people to see the direction they must take at the crossroads of confession.

Ash Wednesday services are at 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.

For those wishing, a drive-thru Imposition of Ashes will be from 7 to 9 a.m. and from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the church.
