Mexican consulate sending team here

St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church hosts the Mexican consulate on Saturday.

The Mexican consulate is bringing a team to provide consular services to Mexican citizens in the area, and can serve between 200 to 300 clients that day.

The consulate will be in the Parish Hall at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 2800 Trimmier Road, Killeen, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Appointments are required, and reservations can be made now by calling the Austin consulate at (877) 639-4835.

Killeen Healing Rooms open today

The Killeen Healing Rooms will be open from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. today in the KPLE-TV building, 502 E. Elms Road in Killeen.

The organization’s commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Prayer teams will be available to pray for healing in the name of Jesus Christ.

St. Christopher’s to host blood drive

St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday for Carter BloodCare.

Carter BloodCare provides for all local hospitals, including the veteran’s hospital. All donors will receive a free pint of ice cream and a contest entry for free ice cream for a year.

Academy to host worship arts seminar

Karar International Dance Academy hosts its fifth annual Worship Arts Conference at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center, 3601 S. W.S. Young Drive.

“The King is coming in all His Glory” is July 18-20, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 10 p.m. daily.

The conference features word preaching, instructional teaching on choreography, workshop sessions, and pageantry.

Other events include: access to market place ministers-for your ministerial and dance needs, garments for purchase, ministerial clothing, flags and other praise instruments.

Tickets range from $25 to $75.

St. Joseph’s school signing up students

St. Joseph’s Catholic School is registering students entering sixth grade for the school year 2013-14.

Church’s preschool seeking principal

The preschool at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church is seeking a new principal to begin the position by Aug. 1.

The preschool currently operates three days a week and serves up to 84 children.

Back to School fun run set for Aug. 3

A Back to School 5K Fun Run is at 9 a.m. Aug. 3 at Ogletree Stage Stop and Post Office on U.S. Highway 190 in Copperas Cove.

Participants will receive a T-shirt, a bag of school supplies and will be entered in a raffle drawing.

The registration fee before July 20 is $25. After July 20, the fee is $30.

Registration will be from 10 a.m. to noon and from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturdays at Hillside Ministries Food Bank, 306 Casa Drive, Copperas Cove.

The fundraiser is sponsored by First Samoan Full Gospel Pentecostal Inc.

Gospel meeting at Youngsport church

Larry Pratt is the guest speaker for an upcoming gospel meeting at Youngsport Church of Christ.

The meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 2-4.

Pratt is a board member for the Foster’s Home for Children and minister at the Graford Church of Christ. 

His ministry provides insightful lessons from God’s word coupled with witty stories in association with the business world.

Immanuel Lutheran hosting garage sale

A rummage and garage sale continues from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today in the parish hall at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Copperas Cove.

A wide variety of items donated by members of the congregation will be for sale. Proceeds will be designated for Immanuel’s special projects at a later date.

Everyone is welcome to browse for bargains.

Convocation kicks off Wednesday

United Faith Church will host the 27th Good N.E.W.S. Holy Convocation on Wednesday through July 21.

This year’s theme is “ A Time of Reconciliation.” 

Services begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.  

Classes begin at 9 a.m. Thursday and Friday.

A closeout service will be during the worship service at 10 a.m. July 21.

Hosting the event are Bishop Clarence and Lady Louise Drummond.

Congregation Simcha Sinai (Reform Jewish Congregation) meets the second and fourth Fridays of each month.

The Adams Chapel AME Church annual Men’s Day Sons of Allen celebration begins at 4 p.m. July 28.

Seminar on identity theft set for Aug. 1

Identity Theft and Senior Scams is the subject of August’s Senior Adult First Thursday held Aug. 1 at First Baptist Church-Killeen, 3310 S. W.S. Young Drive.

Charles Dinwiddie of the Special Missions Unit of the Killeen Police Department will present the program in the Fellowship Hall at 11 a.m. followed by a potluck luncheon.
