Bible Way COGIC to serve free meals

Free meals will be served for those in need from 1 to 3 p.m. today and each Saturday through Nov. 10 at Bible Way COGIC.

The church is at 300 W. Jasper Road, Killeen. Pastor is Superintendent Robert R. Ellis Sr.

Registration for food baskets set today

Open Arms Outreach will begin signing up families today to receive free Thanksgiving food baskets in November.

The registration is being held in conjunction with the ministry’s regular monthly food pantry and clothes closet, which begins at 9 a.m. at the ministry’s outreach center at 409 Eighth St. in Killeen.

In addition to the free food, clothing giveaway and the Thanksgiving basket signup, free breakfast foods will be served at today’s event.

Bethel Homecoming slated for today

Bethel Church announces the schedule of services for the 63rd Homecoming starting at 7 p.m. today.

The celebration continues at 10:30 a.m. Sunday and concludes with a Community Gospel Singing at 3 p.m.

The pulpit guests will be Dr. Leland and Jan Burkett of Henderson. 

Dr. Burkett is the pastor of “Church Fellowship International,” a thriving family-focused ministry in the heart of Henderson.  

The Burketts have been in the ministry for over 30 years. They are gifted singers, musicians and composers, blending anointed music with the preaching of the word.

The Bethel Praise Team will lead the services in song. 

Additional music will be presented by The Wallace Family on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

The 3 p.m. Community Gospel Singing will feature the Burketts, The Wallaces, in addition to other local musical guests in an informal time of making Gospel Music memories.

Christian music artists to perform tonight

Several Christian music artists will perform in concert tonight at Robertson Avenue Baptist Church in Copperas Cove.

Scheduled to perform are Hoxworth & Co., Debra Hodge, Scott Jessen, Sayani Duo, Gordon and Brenda North and Larry Sturm.

The concert begins at 6:30 p.m.

A free-will offering will be taken.

Public invited to St. Joseph fall festival

More than $18,000 in prizes will be given away: first-place prize, $5,000 Visa gift card; second-place prize, $3,000 Visa gift card; third-place prize, $1,000 gift card; fourth-place prize, TV; fifth place prize, Apple Ipad; and sixth-place prize, Kindle Fire. A grand prize drawing will be held about 6 p.m. Sunday.

Raffle tickets are $4 each or book of six for $20. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win. Winners will be notified by the chairman. During the event, there also will be the crowning of the Fest Queen.

Hillside Ministries Killeen offers the Awana’s program for children ages Pre-K4 to sixth grade.

Awana’s is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. every Sunday at 3601 Edgefield St., Killeen.

Church to celebrate 32nd anniversary

Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church will hold its 32nd church anniversary celebration at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Bringing the message for the anniversary hour will be the Rev. Joe Bedford, pastor of the Greater Zion Baptist Church in Waco.

The public is invited to help celebrate another year of service to the Lord.

Unity Baptist set to host Fall Revival

The Unity Baptist Church will host its annual Fall Revival, Monday through Friday.

The lecturer for the week is Pastor Roger Skepple of Berean Bible Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga.

The revivalist is Pastor Eddie Jacks of the Resurrected Reformed Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The youth revivalist is Elder J. Michael Frazier of Crossover Bible Fellowship Church in Houston.

Service begins at 6:45 p.m., each day.

Church to hold annual Tricky Tray fundraiser

St. Andrews United Methodist Church will hold its annual Tricky Tray fundraiser on Tuesday.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and calling begins at 6:30 p.m.

This is a fundraiser for the Becky Emery Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Tickets are 5 for $1 and door prize tickets are $1 each.

Spiritual meetings set at First Baptist

Kevin Kirkland, of Katalyst Ministries, will lead a series of spiritual awakening meetings at 7 p.m. Thursday through Oct. 27 at First Baptist Church in Killeen.

Also featured are Mike Lewis, a dazzling “Speed Painter” at 7 p.m. Thursday and mentalist/ illusionist Bryan Drake at 7 p.m. Friday and Oct. 27.

Xtreme Outdoor Expo starts Oct. 26

Xtreme Outdoor Expo, a family adventure sponsored by Skyline Baptist Church, is set for Oct. 26-28.

Participants can win a car, Cozumel cruise for two or a voucher for a Lab puppy.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. that Friday there will be food, a fashion show and vendor booths. Guest speaker is author Edwina Patterson.

Sensory Overload is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. that Saturday at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center, 3601 S. W.S. Young Drive in Killeen.

Hank Hough, a Lab trainer, will speak at the event. There will be a car and motorcyle show, boats, vendors, game booths, bounce houses, silent auction, drawings and give aways. Everyone is invited to the free event.

Students in grades seven through 12 are invited to the free Xtreme Outdoor Expo beginning at 6 p.m. Oct. 28 at the rodeo grounds, 3601 S. W.S. Young Drive in Killeen.

Guest speakers set to honor pastor, wife

God’s Holy Tabernacle COGIC will be celebrating its pastor and wife 29th anniversary Friday through Oct. 28.

Grace Lutheran Church and School of Killeen will hold its 6th annual Trunk R Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 in the church parking lot.

This event gives children a safe alternative to traditional trick or treating because participants will collect candy from decorated “trunks.”

Choir, orchestra set to perform two concerts

Central Texas Master Singers Choir and Orchestra will perform two fully orchestrated Christmas Concerts on Dec. 3 at LifeWay Fellowship in Killeen, at 4001 E. Elms Road and Dec. 4 at First Baptist Church in Belton, 506 S. Main St., Belton.

St. Martin’s Episcopal Church women will be celebrating the Joy of Giving Bazaar from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 2 and 3.

Clothing giveaway set at Heights church

On Oct. 27, the Harker Heights United Methodist Church will hold its annual Make A Difference Day clothing giveaway.

Free clothing will be available for all ages and sizes. The focus will be mainly colder weather clothing, to include outerwear as well as regular clothes appropriate for school and work. No formal clothing will be available. Clothing distribution will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The United Methodist Men of the church will offer snacks to people who attend.

Donated clothing will be accepted by the church beginning Oct. 21-26, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Florence church schedules Fall Fest

Fall Fest at Florence United Methodist Church opens at 8:30 a.m. today.

Barbecue lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Homecooked lunch features brisket, sausage and all the fixings. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.

Live auction starts at 1 p.m.

Tickets for quilt raffle are $1 each.

Plants and crafts will be available for purchase.
