Christmas bazaar set for Dec. 7-8

The 40th annual Christmas Bazaar sponsored by the Altar & Rosary Society of St. Joseph Church will be at the St. Joseph Parish Activity Center, 2903 E. Rancier Ave., Killeen, from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 7 and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 8.

Vendor setup will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Spaces for parishioners are $20 each and $10 for each additional space.

For nonparishioners, spaces are $30 and $15 for each additional. Space rental is for two days only. No spaces are available for single days.

Community invited to Hanging of the Greens

The First Presbyterian Church in Killeen will celebrate Hanging of the Greens, decorating the church for the Christmas season and a chili supper from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today.

Guests are welcome. A nursery will be provided. The church is at 4705 E. Rancier Ave.

St. Christopher’s plans Advent events

St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church begins its Advent season at 9 a.m. Sunday with a lesson on St. Nicholas, followed by a service of Advent Lessons and Carols at 10:30 a.m.

The Advent program continues Wednesday with a Star of Bethlehem program and a light supper at 6 p.m., followed by astronomer Jeff McClure’s presentation at 6:30 p.m. The evening will end with a Compline service. Everyone is invited.

COGIC in Heights to host dinner for pastors

The Garden of Gethsemane COGIC in Harker Heights is sponsoring the 31th annual Pastors’ and Ministers Wives’ Christmas dinner in the home of Superintendent Willie D. and Missionary Florence Grove.

The annual Christmas dinner begins with prayer. After dinner, there will be songs. Guests will enjoy listening to Christmas music and a gift exchange.

The dinner begins at 8 p.m. Monday.

Gospel concert starts at 5 p.m. Sunday

A Night of Sunday Best Praise and Gospel begins at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center.

Slated to perform are Le Andria Johnson, Joshua Rogers and Alexis Spight.

Doors open at 4 p.m.

General admission tickets are $30 per person. Tickets for VIP seating is $45.

Tabernacle Baptist to host Christmas revival

Evangelist Roland Starr is guest speaker for a Christmas revival at Tabernacle Baptist Church and Christian School, 6601 S. Fort Hood St.

Revival services are 10 and 11 a.m., and 6 p.m. Sunday; and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m., nightly.

Starr has written many books and pamphlets on Christian living.

Christian ministers’ prayer luncheon Tuesday

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship monthly prayer luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at East Side Baptist Church, 500 N. W.S. Young Drive.

All pastors, ministers and chaplains in the Killeen and Fort Hood area are invited. Senior pastors who are unable to attend are encouraged to send a representative.

A complimentary lunch will be provided.

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship is an informal organization whose goal is to strengthen relationships among the spiritual leaders of the community. There are no dues or fees, and membership is open to all pastors, ministers and chaplains in the local area. The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month for fellowship and prayer.

German worship service scheduled for Dec. 8

Immanuel Lutheran Church of Copperas Cove will celebrate its annual “Advent Gottesdienst,” a German service, on Dec. 8.

The Rev. Otto Brillinger will again travel to Immanuel to be the guest preacher.

To begin the day’s activities, Brillinger will show slides in the parish hall at 9:30 a.m.

His English service is at 10:30 a.m. A potluck lunch will follow. The German service will begin at 2 p.m. followed by refreshments. This is a communitywide tradition, and everyone is invited to attend.

Central Texas Masters Singers plan concerts

The Central Texas Master Singers Choir and Orchestra kick off their annual Christmas concerts Dec. 9 at Faith Point Church, 3504 E. Central Texas Expressway, Killeen.

On Dec. 10, a performance will be at First Baptist Church in Belton, 506 S. Main St.

Both performances are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
