Second Street Baptist plans car wash today
A car wash, sponsored by the Second Street Baptist Church Brotherhood, is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at 1602 N. Second St., Killeen. All proceeds will go toward purchasing a new drum set for the music department.
Citywide prayer at Hope Pregnancy Center
The monthly citywide time of prayer at Hope Pregnancy Center is from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday in Southpointe Center directly south of the Copper Mountain post office on W.S. Young Drive in suite 301-C, Killeen.

Monthly fellowship luncheon set for Tuesday
The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship monthly prayer luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at East Side Baptist Church, 500 N. W.S. Young Drive.
All pastors, ministers and chaplains in the greater Killeen/Fort Hood area are invited. Senior pastors who are unable to attend are encouraged to send a representative.
A complimentary lunch will be provided.
The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship is an informal organization whose goal is to strengthen relationships among the spiritual leaders of the community. There are no dues or fees, and membership is open to all pastors, ministers and chaplains in the local area. The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month for fellowship and prayer.

Garage sale to fund youth center
A garage sale fundraiser is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 7 at True Deliverance Ministries Int’l, 508 Hall Ave., Killeen, behind the post office on 10th Street.
All proceeds go to the building of its youth center. Suggested donation is $1 for clothing items or $2 for new clothing items.
Most appliance items are $5 or less.
CBS to hold first Bible study class Sept. 9
The Temple-Belton Community Bible Study, adult co-ed evening class will hold its first class meeting from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 9 in the small sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Belton, at Sixth and Main streets.
An introductory session will be at 7:30 p.m. for anyone interested in learning more about CBS and registering for the 30-week in-depth interdenominational study of Romans.
The class is open to all adults. Individuals may choose to participate in core groups for young adults, men, women or married couples.
Each week participants will receive a reading commentary on the previous week’s topic and a set of questions to work on each day covering the next week’s reading.
On Monday nights, these questions will be discussed in small groups.
Following the small groups there is a short lecture over the same section of Scripture.
The class will break for the Christmas and spring vacation and will finish in April.
