Open Arms Outreach offers food giveaway

Open Arms Outreach will offer its free monthly food pantry beginning at 9 a.m. today at 413 Eighth St. between Modern TV & Appliance and the Armed Services YMCA in downtown Killeen.

Breakfast burritos will be served at no charge. Food will be given away as long as it lasts.

This ministry serves the community by providing emergency food, toiletry items, and financial assistance and counseling.

It also operates an adult literacy program and offers free educational tutoring for school-age children.

Agape COGIC is set to host the Walk for Jesus on May 31 at the Killeen Community Center, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd., Killeen.

Registration starts at 7:30 a.m.

Warm-up is at 8 a.m. The walk begins at 8:30 a.m.

Early registration ends May 25 and is $15 for adults and $10 for ages 10-17.

All proceeds will go to benefit the Mission Soup Kitchen of Killeen, the Christian Assistance Network and the Killeen Food Care Center.

Lois Baker and Kay Rindahl will minister at Temple Aglow at 6:45 p.m. May 27 in the grand ballroom at Country Lane Senior Center in Temple.

Baker is a licensed and ordained minister.

She and Rindahl were sent out as a prophetic team from their home church, Selma Worship Center, Selma, Ohio.
