Church youth musical to celebrate black history

A Black History Youth Musical, hosted by Praise and Deliverance House of Prayer, begins at noon today at 315 N. Gray St. in downtown Killeen.

The musical features the Victorious Praise Youth Choir, local choirs, praise teams and soloists.

Ordination of deacons scheduled for Sunday

Jason Lewis and Ray Archie will be ordained deacons with the Rev. Ed Talley presiding at the 10:50 a.m. Sunday service at New Sunset Community Church.

After the customary questioning of deacon-elect Lewis and Archie, Brother Jimmie Auten, minister of education for New Sunset Community Church, will give the ordination sermon.

Prayer day planning luncheon set for Monday

A National Day of Prayer planning luncheon is from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at East Side Baptist Church, 500 N. W.S. Young Drive, Killeen.

Budget conference gets underway Tuesday

The C.H. Mason Memorial District Budget Conference convenes at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at the Garden of Gethsemane COGIC, 111 Cox Drive, Harker Heights.

The theme for the conference is “Recapturing Holiness” Isaiah 35:8-9.

Tuesday’s musical evening features guest speaker Pastor Lloyd Halliburton of Fort Worth with guests, the A.J. Reed Gospel Ensemble.

Bishop A.L. Thomas Jr., Texas Southeast Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, is scheduled to speak Wednesday.

District Missionary Florence Grove, C.H. Mason District, hosts the Women’s Day program Thursday. Joyce Thomas Campbell is the guest speaker.

Pastor Robert Curtis, New Life Church in Temple, speaks on the official night, which is Friday.

Killeen Healing Rooms opening Tuesday

The Killeen Healing Rooms are open from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the KPLE-TV building, 502 E. Elms Road, Killeen.

The group’s commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Prayer teams will be available to seek healing in the name of Jesus Christ.

Public invited to attend gospel concert March 15

The second annual Central Texas Gospel Quartet explosion kicks off at 4 p.m. March 15. Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church, 2306 S. Farm-to-Market 116, Copperas Cove.

Immanuel Lutheran celebrating anniversary

Immanuel Lutheran Church ELCA is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year.

Kicking off the yearlong celebration is a special church service at 10 a.m. April 6, conducted by Tangled Blue, a husband-and-wife team who performs Christian-based folk and rock music.
