Nolanville church to host Christmas in July event

Nolanville First United Church will have its Christmas in July event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.

Items for sale include handmade arts and crafts, homemade jellies & jams and baked goods,

A fish fry will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with dinners sold for $10 per plate.

Door prizes will be given out every hour.

The event also will feature a raffle for three grand prizes: a homemade quilt, a Texas flag wall hanging and a $100 gift card (need not be present to win)

The church is at 300 W. Aveune I in Nolanville.

Killeen church to mark pastor’s anniversary

Two services are scheduled this Sunday to celebrate the eighth anniversary of Rev. John E. Abbey as the pastor of Bethel Church, located at 4307 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd in Killeen.

Continuous growth, additional land purchases and major renovation of the original building have highlighted the last eight years leading to plans to construct a new and larger auditorium on the corner of 58th Street in the near future.

Worship and Celebration begins at 10:30 with the President of the World Bible Way Fellowship, Dr. Kenny Howe preaching.

Dr. Howe has built and pastored some five churches and is a noted musician and singer, theologian and author of several books.

Special music guest include Charles King (Mr. Gospel Music of Central Texas), and Andy and Lana Binion, and Rev. Randy Binion.

At 3 p.m., there will be a Gospel Music Concert with these guests and several additional, rounding out a day of Praise and Worship.

Killeen church seeking vendors for bazaar

Agape Church of God in Christ is seeking vendors for a July 16 bazaar that will benefit community help organizations.

Fee for vendors is $40 if a table is needed, $35 if vendors have their own table.

Vendors may go online to www.agapecogic.org to print out a registration form. Registration fee is available by check or money order only.

Proceeds from the benefit will to go toward Mission Soup Kitchen and the Rancier Communities in Schools program.

Deadline for vendors to register is July 13.

Killeen church offers vacation Bible school

Skyline Baptist Church at 906 Trimmier Road in Killeen would like to invite local youngsters to be “Submerged” in the Lord’s Word during vacation Bible school beginning July 18, through July 22, from 9 a.m. to noon.

All children ages 4 years old through completed sixth grade are invited to attend.

Killeen church plans concert July 23

Area residents are invited to St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church on July 23 for a concert presented by the HOPE singers of California Baptist University’s Cillingsworth School of Music.

The 6 p.m. performance is part of a 14-state tour by this group of eight superb young vocalists.

The concert is free, and coordinated by the Central Texas Master Singers. All are invited to attend.

Bible study adult class signing up members

The Temple-Belton Community Bible Study adult evening class is currently registering members for next year’s 30-week, in-depth interdenominational Bible study of Isaiah.

Beginning Sept. 12, the class will meet Mondays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the small sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Belton, at Sixth and Main streets. Individuals may choose to participate in core groups for young adults, men, women, or married couples.

Each week participants receive a reading commentary on the previous week’s topic and a set of questions to work on each day covering the next week’s reading.

These questions are discussed in small groups of about 15. Following the small groups, there is a short teaching over the same section of Scripture.

The class will break for Christmas and spring vacations and finish at the first of May 2017. For information, contact the class coordinator at (254) 773-1842.
