Ministry offers free food pantry
Open Arms Outreach will hold its free monthly food pantry beginning at 9 a.m. today at the ministry’s outreach center at 409 Eighth St. in Killeen.
In addition to the free food giveaway, hot foods and a continental breakfast will be served at no charge.
The food pantry will remain open only as long as the food lasts. The free food pantry is part of a community outreach program held on the third Saturday of each month.
This ministry serves the community by providing emergency food, toiletry items, and financial assistance and counseling. It also operates an adult literacy program and offers free educational tutoring for school-age children.

A Wellness Fair and Blood Drive are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 4 at Adams Chapel A.M.E Church.

From 1 to 3 p.m., speakers will provide information on drawing up a last will and testament, pre-burial planning and term life vs. whole life insurance.
The Scott & White Blood Mobile also will be on site. Blood donors will receive a free T-shirt, coupon for a free half dozen Shipley donuts and a chance to win two tickets to Six Flags Over Texas.

Group to study Romans this fall
The Temple-Belton Community Bible Study adult evening class will study Romans this fall.
Anyone interested in registering for the 30-week study is welcome to attend an introductory session at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the small sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Belton at Sixth and Main streets, Belton.
Visitors can learn more about the group, review lesson material, attend a lecture on the current study of The Divided Kingdom and the Minor Prophets and register for the fall study.
CBS is an interdenominational study for men and women of all backgrounds who are interested in an in-depth weekly study of God’s Word.
TheTemple-Belton class begins Sept. 9 and is open to all adults.
Individuals may choose to participate in core groups for young adults, men, women, or married couples.
Each week, participants receive a reading commentary on the previous week’s topic and a set of questions to work on each day covering the next week’s reading. These questions are discussed in small groups of about 15.
Following the small groups, there is a short teaching over the same section of Scripture.
The class will break for Christmas and spring vacations and finish at the end of next April.

Wild Game Dinner set for April 27
The fifth annual Wild Game Dinner, organized by the Liberty Hill United Methodist men’s group, begins at 5 p.m. April 27, about 15 miles west of Georgetown.
The menu features more than a dozen assorted wild game dishes.
Attendance is not required to win prizes.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. The ticket price includes entrance to the event and auctions and one entry for the grand prize drawing.
Tickets for children 12 and younger will be available at the door for $5 and do not include the prize drawing.
Proceeds from the dinner help fund many of the ministries and outreach programs of the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church.
