Greater Vision hosts town hall for youth

A Youth Town Hall is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Greater Vision Community Church Activity Center, 2000 E. Stan Schlueter Loop, Killeen.

Members of the community are asked to make their concerns known on drugs, bullying, alcohol, teen issues and more.

The keynote speaker is Coach Lamar Collins.

The town hall is open to the public.

New Bethel plans gospel extravaganza

The New Bethel family will celebrate its monthly gospel extravaganza Sunday.

The speaker for the evening is Bishop Hayward Polk of Exalted Praise Ministries.

Music ministry will be provided by New Bethel’s Voices of Purpose.

Special guests include gospel recording artists Sandra Hawkins, Barbara Williams and special musical guest Tommy Harris Sr.

Heights church to mark anniversary

Harker Heights Community Church will celebrate its fifth church anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday at 202 E. Beeline Lane in Harker Heights.

The church’s theme for the coming year is Standing on God’s Promises and Principle in the New Normal.

The anniversary worship service features ministry presentations from various community members.

Elijah Brown, the featured speaker, is a sophomore at Texas Southern University studying broadcast journalism.

Theology seminar set for February

Killeen Bible Church is hosting a seminar on New Covenant Theology on Feb. 3, 10, 17 and 24 at 4717 Westcliff Road in Killeen.

An introductory sermon on this subject, presented by Dr. Joe W. Kelley, begins at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Kelley, founding pastor of Killeen Bible Church and currently serving as a professor at Providence Theological Seminary in Colorado Springs, Colo., is also conducting the seminar.

All sessions start at 6 p.m.:

Feb. 3: New Covenant Theology and Biblical Interpretation.

Feb. 10: New Covenant Theology and the Law of God.

Feb. 17: New Covenant Theology and the Christian Church.”

Feb. 24: New Covenant Theology and the Gift and Ministry of the Holy Spirit.

The seminar is designed to help clarify the differences between covenant theology and dispensational theology.

New Covenant Theology is presented as a possible “via media,” a middle way, between the two systems and provides a framework for a more accurate understanding of biblical theology.

A question-and-answer period will be at the end of each session.

Beginning this Sunday, Immanuel Lutheran Church will have a Healing Service at 4 p.m. with an emphasis on healing.

Church Bible study scheduled Mondays

St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church and the Rev. Janice Jones are hosting a new Bible study at noon Mondays beginning this Monday.

Area residents are invited to join the study. The group will study the history, the language and the culture of the people alive during the time of the Book of Acts.

Hope for the Hungry program to air

KPLE-TV will air a special live presentation at 6 p.m. Tuesday with global missions organization, Hope for the Hungry.

Based in Belton, Hope for the Hungry seeks to “share the Bread of Life with a starving world.”

This round-table discussion will give some insight on the efforts of the organization and its partners today in places such as Belton, Haiti, India and beyond.

KPLE-TV, a TBN affiliate, is Christian broadcasting for Central Texas and can be viewed on Time Warner Cable Channel 45 and Digital Channel 31.

Hope for the Hungry is an interdenominational ministry focusing on assisting children worldwide, and serving missionaries who have responded to God’s call.

Revival Institute begins Tuesday

Healing rooms open Tuesday night

The Killeen Healing Rooms will be open from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the KPLE-TV building at 502 E. Elms Road in Killeen.

The group’s commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Prayer teams will be available to pray for healing in the name of Jesus Christ.

Gospel quartet to perform at church

Pidcoke Baptist Church will host the gospel quartet Just Us at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The quartet is a local group that has preformed at many of the churches in the Central Texas area.
