Cove church to provide hot lunches today

Five Hills Assembly of God will serve hot lunches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Five Loaves and Two Fishes Outreach building. Meals are provided for people in need. They will receive a bag of groceries to take home.

The church will provide bags of produce to families in need every Monday and Tuesday.

Killeen church hosting fish fry dinner today

Praise and Deliverance House of Prayer is offering a fish fry dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. The $8 meals consist of catfish, green beans, potato salad, bread, drink and cake. Killeen church offers family, friends program

Bibleway Church of God in Christ will host a family and friends program at 3 p.m. today. The theme is The Year in Prosperity.

Church hosts Memorial Day Service on Sunday

Val Verde Baptist Church will host the 124th Memorial Day Service at 10 a.m. Sunday. Guest speaker is former pastor Carl Love of Moffatt.

There will be music and activities during the service. A pot luck will be served afterward.

The church is on Farm-to-Market 2268, nine miles east of Holland and nine miles south of Rogers.

Church plans Founders Appreciation Service

True Deliverance Ministries will have their Founders Appreciation Service at 11 a.m. Sunday.

Noonday prayer and a class are at 1 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays.

Ensemble to host Soul Food Festival today

A.J. Reed Gospel Ensemble will host its first Soul Food Festival at 10 a.m. today.

The meals will be served at the Tabernacle of Praise and Worship Center, located at 348 S. 40th St., Killeen.

For $10, there will be smothered ox-tails, smothered pork chops, fried chicken, collard greens, rice and gravy, yams, corn bread and cake.

March for Jesus starts at 10 a.m. today

Jesus Hope and Love Mission will have a March for Jesus today, with sign-in starting at 9:15 a.m. The march begins at 10 a.m. with prayer and raffle drawings afterward.

The march will be at Carl Levin Park, 400 Miller’s Crossing in Harker Heights.

Entry is $2 or bring a decorated poster of Jesus. Any donations and funds raised from the $10 shirts will go to the Jesus Hope and Love Mission in Killeen.

K of C hosts A Knight

at the races today

Knights of Columbus, St. Andrew Kim Council 9930 is conducting the eighth annual A Knight at the races today at St. Paul Chong Hasang Parish Center, 2412 Stilllhouse Drive in Harker Heights.

The event is open to the public.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the first race starts at 6:45 p.m. Horses must be purchased before the event for $30 each by calling 254-698-1770 or from members of the council.

Buying a horse provides you $100 in play money. You don’t have to buy a horse to attend, but you can pay an entry fee of $10 that provides you $50 of play money. Winnings of play money are used to bid on silent auction items at the completion of races.

Public invited to join prayer for the unborn

All area residents are invited to attend the monthly citywide time of prayer at Hope Pregnancy Center in Killeen.

The event will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday as participants petition the Lord on behalf of the unborn. HPC is located in Southpointe Center directly south of the Copper Mountain post office on W.S. Young Drive in suite 301-C. For more information, contact Pat at 681-5823.

Ministers prayer luncheon is Tuesday

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship monthly prayer luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at East Side Baptist Church, 500 N. W.S. Young Drive.

All pastors, ministers and chaplains in the Killeen area are invited. Senior pastors who are unable to attend are encouraged to send a representative. A complimentary lunch will be provided.
