Bible Way youth travel to Washington, D.C.

The Youth of Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church traveled to Washington D.C., on June 24 through July 1.

They visited some of the museums, memorials, monuments and archives as well as the Library of Congress, Botanical Gardens, National Cathedral and Union Station.

The trip was highlighted with a tour of the White House Visitors Center and Kennedy Center and tea with the senators.

On Sunday they attended services at the Jerusalem Baptist Church, Pastor Rodney A. Teal.

Members of Bible Way, Nancy Small and Ryen King were invited to sing during the worship service.

Public invited to attend citywide time of prayer

Area residents are invited to attend the monthly citywide time of prayer at Hope Pregnancy Center in Killeen.

The event will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. Participants will petition the Lord on behalf of the unborn in the spirit of biblical unity.

HPC is located in Southpointe Center directly south of the Copper Mountain post office on W.S. Young Drive in suite 301-C.

Ministers fellowship luncheon is Tuesday

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship monthly prayer luncheon will be held Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at East Side Baptist Church, 500 N. W.S. Young Drive in Killeen.

All pastors, ministers and chaplains in the greater Killeen/Fort Hood area are invited. Senior pastors who are unable to attend are encouraged to send a representative.

A complimentary lunch will be provided.

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship is an informal group whose goal is to strengthen relationships among the spiritual leaders of the community. There are no dues, and membership is open to all pastors, ministers and chaplains in the local area. The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month for fellowship and prayer.

Senior Adult First Thursday is Thursday at First Baptist Church Killeen, 3310 S. W.S. Young Drive.

Blood pressure checks begin at 5 p.m. with a catered meal at 5:30 and a special guest speaker at 6 p.m. This event is free and all seniors are welcome.

Nolanville church plans Christmas in July

Nolanville First United Church will have its Christmas in July event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 9.

Items for sale include handmade arts & crafts, homemade jellies & jams abd baked goods,

A fish fry will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with dinners sold for $10 per plate.

Door prizes will be given out every hour.

The event also will feature a raffle for three Grand Prizes: a homemade quilt, a Texas flag wall hanging and a $100 gift card (need not be present to win)

Church seeking vendors for July 16 bazaar

Agape Church of God in Christ is seeking vendors for a July 16 bazaar that will benefit community help organizations.

Fee for vendors is $40 if a table is needed, $35 if vendors have their own table.

Vendors may go online to to print out a registration form. Registration fee is available by check or money order only.

Proceeds from the benefit will to go toward Mission Soup Kitchen and the Rancier Communities in Schools program.

Deadline for vendors to register is July 13.

Adult Bible study class registering members

The Temple-Belton Community Bible Study adult evening class is currently registering members for next year’s 30-week, in-depth interdenominational Bible study of Isaiah.

Beginning Sept. 12, the class will meet Mondays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the small sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Belton, at Sixth and Main streets. Individuals may choose to participate in core groups for young adults, men, women, or married couples.

Each week participants receive a reading commentary on the previous week’s topic and a set of questions to work on each day covering the next week’s reading.

These questions are discussed in small groups of about 15. Following the small groups, there is a short teaching over the same section of Scripture.

The class will break for Christmas and spring vacations and finish at the first of May 2017.
