Faith Christian plans yard sale, dinner

A yard sale and chicken and fish dinner fundraiser is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Faith Christian Center Ministries.

The public is invited.

St. Joseph offers citizenship classes

Citizenship and English classes are offered from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

The instructor is retired Staff Sgt. Rudy A. Calooy, who became a U.S. citizen after serving in the Korean War.

The free classes are held in the church’s recreation hall, 2903 E. Rancier Ave., Killeen.

East Side to host ministers fellowship

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship’s monthly prayer luncheon is at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at East Side Baptist Church, 500 N. W.S. Young Drive.

All pastors, ministers and chaplains in the greater Killeen and Fort Hood area are invited.

Senior pastors who are unable to attend are encouraged to send a representative.

A complimentary lunch will be provided.

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship is an informal organization whose goal is to strengthen relationships among the spiritual leaders of the community.

There are no dues or fees, and membership is open to all pastors, ministers and chaplains in the area.

The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month for fellowship and prayer.

Pastoral care training available

St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church is sponsoring a robust preparation for pastoral care studying in the Community of Hope program.

The program begins from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.

The group is open to representatives of all denominations.

Materials are $25.

Mom2Mom, the newest fellowship at St. Christopher’s, is a group for mothers meeting once a week for fun, fellowship and education.

Mothers start by studying “The 5 Love Languages of Children” by Gary Chapman. Books will be provided as well as child care for ages 5 and younger.

Meetings are from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Mondays, beginning April 8, at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 2800 Trimmier Road, Killeen.

United Faith set to mark anniversary

Members of United Faith Church Inc. will celebrate the church’s 25th anniversary, April 12-14 at 1101 N. First St., Copperas Cove.  

A musical begins at 7:30 p.m. April 12.

An in-house celebration is April 13.

The anniversary celebration continues with guest speaker Pastor Robert Brown with First Baptist Church, Diaz, Ark., at the 11 a.m. worship service on April 14.

Bishop Clarence and Lady Louise Drummond invite the public to the event. 

United Methodist plans spring festival

The United Methodist Women will have their annual Spring Festival from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 13 at Grace United Methodist Church, 101 W. Avenue F, Copperas Cove.

On display will be crafts, gift ideas, baked goods, small white elephant items, and a soup and salad lunch.

Vendor space is available to rent.

Women invited to day of fellowship

All ladies are invited to Youngsport Church of Christ for a day of inspiration, fellowship and biblical study on April 13.

Marie Frith leads a discussion on the topic of faith, centered about Hebrews 11.

Event to raise money for Hope Pregnancy

Hope Pregnancy Center’s 33rd annual banquet fundraiser is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 16 at the Bell County Expo Center, Garth Arena.

The guest speaker is Lila Rose, founder of Live Action, who shares her story of investigative journalism in abortion clinics across the country.

Tickets are $35 per person.

Table sponsorships begin at $250 and include seating for eight people for the buffet style dinner.

Sponsorships available include the Defender for $1,000, Advocate at $2,500 and the Guardian at $5,000.

In addition to the program and meal, all sponsorships will receive two tickets to a VIP reception with Rose.

Grammy-winning singer to perform

Pastor Shirley Caesar, a Grammy Award winner, is the guest speaker at this year’s celebration of Prophetess Vernell Galbreath’s 28th year in ministry.

The celebration begins at 7 p.m. June 20 at Destiny World Outreach Center at 101 N. W.S. Young Drive in Killeen.

Galbreath, founder and president of Faith & Deliverance Ministries, has ministered the gospel for over 28 years.

She has conducted tent revivals, prayer conferences, and crusades.

Galbreath has served the Central Texas area as mistress of ceremonies at civic and community functions, coordinated numerous special projects with both the civilian and military communities; and presently networks with all area media to include an on-camera interview personality.

She is host of the Empowering Leaders Conference, a platform that ministers to the soldiers at Fort Hood.

Prophetess Galbreath has ministered in foreign countries such as Haiti, Africa, Germany, Italy, and Paris.

Pastor Chad and Marla Rowe serve as pastors at Destiny World Outreach Center.
