Free food pantry at Open Arms Outreach

Open Arms Outreach will hold its free monthly food pantry beginning at 9 a.m. today at the ministry’s outreach center at 409 Eighth St. in Killeen.

In addition to the food giveaway, hot food and a continental breakfast will be served at no charge.

The food pantry will remain open today only as long as the food lasts.

The free food pantry is part of a community outreach program held on the third Saturday of each month.

This ministry serves the community by providing emergency food, toiletry items, and financial assistance and counseling. It also operates an adult literacy program and offers free educational tutoring for school-age children.

Women of Colors at Pershing Park

Women of Colors (White, Purple, Green, Black, Red and Gold) will be presented by the Women’s Missionary Union at Pershing Park Baptist Church for the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service.

First Baptist-Killeen plans Bible studies

“Dare to Be Uncommon” is a men’s Bible study written by Super Bowl-winning coach Tony Dungy.

“Stepping Up” is a women’s Bible study written by Beth Moore.

Both Bible studies are held at 4:45 p.m. Sundays and 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at First Baptist Church Killeen.

Healing program at St. Christopher’s

“The Pilgrimage of Healing,” led by the Rev. David Peters and hosted by St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, is set for Thursday.

The program opens with a simple meal at 6 p.m., healing work at 6:30 p.m. and concludes with Holy Communion.

Peters, an Army chaplain, serves in the Seton Hospital chaplaincy program.

Groups to perform at New Life Tabernacle

The Gospel Travelers, The Brothers, Men of Vision, and the Heavenly Jubilees of Waco are scheduled to perform for the New Life Tabernacle Ministries Building Fund Musical Program.

C.H. Mason meeting set to start Feb. 27

The C.H. Mason Memorial District Budget Conference will convene at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27 through March 1 at the Garden of Gethsemane COGIC in Harker Heights.

The theme for the conference is “Recapturing Holiness.” Galatians 2:18.

Bishop A.L. Thomas Jr., Texas Southeast Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, is the speaker for Feb. 27.

A women’s day program on Feb. 28 will be hosted by District Missionary Florence Grove, C.H. Mason District. The guest speaker is District Missionary Lillian Billie.

The guest speaker on March 1 is Bishop Eric Cain, Truth and Deliverance Church in Copperas Cove.

Ministry to take part in art festival

Smoking for Jesus Ministry will participate in the “Take 190 West” art festival March 2 at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center.

Patrons are invited to enjoy some New Orleans-style cuisine while attending the art festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pastor Willie L. Monnet Sr., author and executive producer of the book and hit gospel musical stage play, “Mount Up!”, will be autographing copies of the book.

The musical stage play begins at 7 p.m. March 1 and at 3 p.m. March 2 at the Killeen Arts and Activities Center, 801 N. Fourth St., and Sprott Avenue in downtown Killeen.

Doors open for this modern-day deliverance story at 6 p.m. March 1 and at 2 p.m. March 2. There is no charge for admission. Donations are appreciated.

New Life Apostolic to present drama

New Life Apostolic Church invites the public to attend a drama production of “A Streak of Light.”

Killeen church to host Purim party

A Purim party kicks off at 4 p.m. Feb. 23 in the annex building behind Killeen First Assembly of God, 502 N. 38th St., Killeen.

The festival of Purim celebrates Queen Esther’s saving the entire Jewish population of Persia from Haman’s plot to annihilate them.

Join the Hebrew Roots Community for a showing of “One Night with the King,” a movie about the original Purim.

Games, food and a Purim skit will follow the movie.

Participants are asked to bring a Mexican-style dish to share.

A new worship service begins at 5 p.m. the third Saturday of the month. This service is open to all and is geared to people 18 to 30 years old.

Public invited to new worship service

Beginning in March on the second Saturday of the month at 5 p.m., a new worship service will start for members of the community.

“Companionate Worship” is for those in the community who are unable to attend a regular service due to medical reasons, handicapped, disability, etc.

This will be a service where loved ones can bring their relatives, and they don’t have to worry about how they look, walk, communicate, etc.

Companionate Worship is open to everyone.
