Public invited to free worship event today

A Season Of Greater Glory with worship leaders Al Houghton and Jamie Lipe and hosted by Compass Regional Network will take place today at the Holiday Inn Killeen-Fort Hood, 300 E. Central Texas Expressway in Killeen.

Worship will be at 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. This event is free and open to public.

Cove church to serve hot lunches today

Five Hills Assembly of God will be serving hot lunches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Five Loaves and Two Fishes Outreach building.

Meals are provided for anyone in need.

People will receive a bag of groceries to take home.

On Monday and Tuesday, they will be giving bags of produce to families in need from 10 to 11 a.m.

Day of Prayer planning meeting is Monday

Local pastors, ministers and volunteers from various organizations and businesses will be getting together Monday to continue organizing and planning various prayer activities in conjunction with this year’s National Day of Prayer, which is less than a month away.

Killeen church to host women’s Bible classes

The Temple-Killeen Bible Study Fellowship will offer classes for women interested in learning more about the fellowship and about the study of Romans at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday.

The classes will be at the First Baptist Church, 3310 South W.S. Young Drive in Killeen.

Killeen church plans music programs

Join the Westside Baptist Men in a celebration of music and singing April 21 and 22 at 6 p.m.

On April 21, the church will be celebrating its 22nd annual Baptist Men’s Musical with The Divine Messengers, Season 5 Sunday Best Jacqueline Calhoun and many more.

On April 23, Westside Baptist will culminate the musical program with a special 3 p.m. service. The guest speaker will be Pastor Shaun Moton of Marlboro Heights Missionary Baptist Church in Killeen.

Killeen Healing Rooms are open today

The Killeen Healing Rooms are open 8 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. today in the KPLE-TV building at 502 E. Elms Road in Killeen.

The group’s commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Prayer teams will be available to seek healing in the name of Jesus Christ.

Second Street Baptist Church offers faith and recovery group meetings for alcoholism on Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.

The quarterly communitywide men’s prayer breakfast will be at 7:30 a.m. April 22 at Saints Center, 801 Industrial Ave., Copperas Cove.

K of C council plans A Knight at the Races

Knights of Columbus, St. Andrew Kim Council 9930 is conducting the eighth annual A Knight at the Races on April 29 at St. Paul Chong Hasang Parish Center, 2412 Stilllhouse Drive in Harker Heights.

The event is open to the public.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the first race starts at 6:45 p.m.

Horses must be purchased before the event for $30 each by calling 254-698-1770 or from members of the council.

Buying a horse provides you $100 in play money.

You don’t have to buy a horse to attend the event, but you can pay an entry fee of $10 that provides you $50 play money.

Winnings of play money are used to bid on silent auction items after the completion of races.

K of C council offers fish fry dinners during Lent

The Knights of Columbus Council of Killeen has fish fry dinners from 6 to 8 p.m. every Friday during Lent.

The menu consists of fried or baked fish, with macaroni and cheese, fried rice, green beans, hush puppies, corn, corn bread, cole slaw with ice tea or lemonade.

Each plate is $9 per adult, $4 per child 12 years or younger.
