Killeen church to have special services

Immanuel Lutheran Church in Killeen will begin the Advent season with a candle-lighting ceremony of Christ, Be Our Light! on Sunday morning.

Immanuel will also have a From Heaven Above series for Wednesday Lenten worship services starting next week with worship times at 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Immanuel Lutheran is at 3801 Cunningham Road. Sunday worship times are 8 a.m. and 10:30 am with Bible study for all ages at 9:15 a.m.

Killeen Healing Rooms open Tuesday night

The Killeen Healing Rooms will be open from 6:45 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the KPLE-TV building at 502 E. Elms Roadn.

The group’s commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Prayer teams will be available to seek healing in the name of Jesus Christ.

Mission House sets fish dinner, bake sale Dec. 3

Hamilton-Manjang Mission House will have a fish dinner and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Anderson Chapel AME Church, 1002 Jefferies Ave. in Killeen.

Meals include fish and two sides, spaghetti, potato salad, green beans, pinto beans, dessert and soda.

Fish sandwich with soda is $5.

Extra fish is $2 each.

Second Street Baptist Church will have its annual Pastor and Family Anniversary Service, celebrating 29 years, at 3:30 p.m. Dec 4.

Free breakfast offered 2nd Saturday of month

Second Street Baptist Church in Killeen offers a free breakfast to the public every second Saturday of the month at the Moss Rose Community Center, 1103 E. Avenue E, Killeen.

The next breakfast is from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 10.

Adult Bible study class registering members

The Temple-Belton Community Bible Study adult evening class is registering members for the fall/spring 30-week interdenominational Bible study of Isaiah.

The class meets Mondays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the small sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Belton, at Sixth and Main streets, Belton.

An introductory class will be held for anyone interested in learning more about community Bible study. Individuals may choose to participate in core groups for men, women or married couples.

Each week, participants receive a reading commentary on the previous week’s topic and a set of questions to work on each day covering the next week’s reading.

These questions are discussed in small groups of about 15. Following the small groups there is a short teaching over the same section of Scripture.

The class will break for Christmas and spring vacations and finish at the start of May. For more information, call the class coordinator at 254-773-1842.
