Healing rooms to be open Aug. 13

The Killeen Healing Rooms will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 13.

The rooms are in the KPLE-TV building at 502 E. Elms Road in Killeen.

The group’s commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Prayer teams will be available to seek healing in the name of Jesus Christ.

Enrollment open for preschool

Fall enrollment is open for St. Christopher’s Episcopal Preschool.

The school welcomes little ones from 18 months through pre-K.

Registration underway for community Bible study

The Temple-Belton Community Bible Study adult evening class is registering members for next year’s 30 week in-depth interdenominational Bible study of Isaiah.

Beginning Sept. 12, the class will meet from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays in the small sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Sixth and Main streets, Belton. Individuals may choose to participate in core groups for men, women or married couples.

Each week, participants receive a reading commentary on the previous week’s topic and a set of questions to work on each day covering the next week’s reading.

These questions are discussed in small groups of about 15. After the small groups, there is a short teaching over the same section of Scripture.

The class will break for Christmas and spring vacations and finish in May 2017.

Victory over violence focus of exhibit

Area residents are invited to SGI Buddhist Center’s public introduction meeting to Buddhism, featuring the Victory Over Violence Exhibit at 1 p.m. Sunday.

School supplies, raffles set for grand opening

Passion for Christ Minitries and Greater Needs CDC will have a grand opening and Back To School Bash from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. Aug. 13 at 1520 Florence Road in Killeen.

The church will give away free school supplies, have raffles and offer food and entertainment for the families.

Mission to provide backpacks, supplies

Jesus Hope and Love Mission will provide backpacks and school supplies to elementary children in need from 9 a.m. to noon Aug.

The items will be free of charge, but registration is required. Registration can be done from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. today.
