Gillum to minister Sunday at Agape COGIC

Dr. Gilbert Gillum will minister during the Sunday Night Live Service at Agape Church of God in Christ in Killeen.

Gillum is superintendent of the Greater Waco District and pastor of the Living Word COGIC in Waco.

The program, which begins at 7 p.m. Sunday, is presented by the Agape COGIC Pastor’s Aide under the leadership of Pastor Michael and First Lady Ella Johnson.

St. Martin’s hosts Ascension service

St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, Copperas Cove, will hold an Ascension Day service at 6 p.m. Thursday, celebrated by the Rev. Janice Jones, rector of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Killeen, with Paulette assisting.

The service will be a special liturgy of Holy Communion and will feature the African drumming group, “Rhythms of Grace.”

Fellowship will take place in the common hall afterwards with light snacks.

Creation-evolution seminar set for June

Brad Harrub, co-editor of Think magazine, will be the guest speaker at a three-day Creation/Evolution Seminar at Killeen Church of Christ.

The seminar will answer such questions as How Old is the Earth? Did humans evolve from ape-like creatures? and Did humans and dinosaurs coexist?

Lectures are at 7 p.m. June 6, 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. June 7 and 9 and 10 a.m. June 8.

The lectures are free and open to all ages.

Harrub, the co-founder of Focus Press, earned a doctorate in anatomy and neurobiology. He is the author of the book “Convicted: A Scientiest Examines the Evidence for Christianity and Dissecting the Truth.”

‘Walk for Jesus’ May 31

Agape COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Michael Johnson is set to host the “Walk for Jesus” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 31 at the Killeen Community Center, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd., Killeen.

Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. Warm-up is a 8 a.m. Walk begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Killeen Community Center, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd., Killeen.

Early registration ends Sunday and is $15 for adults and $10 for ages, 10-17.

All proceeds will be split between the Mission Soup Kitchen of Killeen, the Christian Assistance Network and the Killeen Food Care Center.

Ohio prophetic team to minister Tuesday

Lois Baker and Kay Rindahl will minister at Temple Aglow at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in the grand ballroom at Country Lane Senior Center in Temple.

Baker is a licensed and ordained minister. She and Rindahl were sent out as a prophetic team from their home church, Selma Worship Center, Selma, Ohio.
