Heights church to mark 25-year anniversary

Garden of Gethsemane COGIC will celebrate its 25 years in ministry this weekend.

The celebration began Friday and will conclude at 4 p.m. Sunday.

The church was founded by the Rev. Willie D. Grove and first lady Florence Grove.

Willie D. Grove now serves as superintendent of the C.H. Mason District of the Texas Southeast Jurisdiction of COGIC, and his wife is a district missionary.

The guest speaker on Sunday will be Apostle Sadallie Cole of True Deliverance Ministries in Killeen.

Garden of Gethsemane COGIC is at 111 Cox Drive in Harker Heights.

Public invited to Praise in the Park this afternoon

Praise in the Park will take place at 3 p.m. today at Long Branch Park, 1101 Branch Drive, Killeen. There will be fellowship, live music and food.

True Deliverance Ministries Youth Department will host a block party from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the church, 508 Hall Ave. in Killeen.

Ministers fellowship’s luncheon is Tuesday

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship’s monthly prayer luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at East Side Baptist Church, 500 N. W.S. Young Drive.

All pastors, ministers and chaplains in the Killeen area are invited. Senior pastors who are unable to attend are can send a representative.

A complimentary lunch will be provided.

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship is an informal group whose goal is to strengthen relationships among the spiritual leaders of the community. There are no dues, and membership is open to all pastors, ministers and chaplains in the area.

The group meets the first Tuesday of each month for fellowship and prayer.

Immanuel Women will host fall bazaar Nov. 5

The Women of Immanuel Lutheran Church will host their annual fall bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5 at 3801 Cunningham Road, Killeen.

Handmade crafts, baby clothes, jewelry, mosaic pieces, woven baskets, nativities, quilts, photos and cards will be available.

The popular Sweet Shop, soups and sandwiches will be available all day.

Proceeds go to local charities and global ministries.

Ladies of Charity set holiday bazaar Nov. 5-6

Harker Heights Ladies of Charity will have a holiday bazaar Nov. 5 and 6 at St. Paul’s Parish Center at 2412 Stillhouse Road.

On Nov. 5, the hours will be 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Nov. 6 from 8 to 11 a.m.

There will be a variety of items for sale to include handmade crafts, baked goods, books, jewelry, fabric, Christmas, religious gifts, and many other items, along with a holiday raffle.

Church to mark pastor, wife’s anniversary

God’s Holy Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, 506 Supt. E.M. Green St. in Killeen, will celebrate its pastor and wife’s 33rd anniversary at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Nov. 5, and at 4 p.m. Nov. 6.

Supt. Robert Ellis of Bibleway Church of God in Christ will be the speaker for the Friday night service. Supt. Gilbert Gillum of Living Word COGIC will speak Saturday night. Bishop William Jenkins, Holy Temple of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ of the Apostle Faith in Belton, will speak Sunday evening.

Ladies In Prayer Station plan 2 meetings Nov. 5

The Ladies In Prayer Station will meet at 9 a.m. Nov. 5 for an hour of prayer at the Courtyard by Marriott in Killeen.

The group will meet again at 5 p.m. to be part of a program to feed the homeless, spearheaded by Missionary Theresa Anderson.

Killeen church to host craft fair Nov. 5

Grace Lutheran Church of Killeen will host a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5.

The event will include handmade crafts, books, cookies and various vendors including Agnes & Dora, Armadillo Tie Dye, Bead for Life, LuLaRoe, The Rugged Cross Shop, Scentsy, Stampin’ Up and Youique.

The church is at 1007 Bacon Ranch Road.

Adult Bible study class registering members

The Temple-Belton Community Bible Study adult evening class is registering members for the fall/spring 30-week interdenominational Bible study of Isaiah.

The class meets Mondays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the small sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Belton, at Sixth and Main streets, Belton.

An introductory class will be held for anyone interested in learning more about Community Bible Study. Individuals may choose to participate in core groups for men, women or married couples.

Each week participants receive a reading commentary on the previous week’s topic and a set of questions to work on each day covering the next week’s reading.

These questions are discussed in small groups of about 15. Following the small groups there is a short teaching over the same section of Scripture.
