Rooms open today

The Killeen Healing Rooms are open from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. today in the KPLE-TV building, 502 Elms Road, Killeen.

The group’s commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Prayer teams will be available to seek healing in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Church to honor

elder, first lady

Temple of Faith Apostolic Ministries will host its fourth annual “Founder’s Appreciation & Church Anniversary” services to honor the faithful labor of Elder Mark E. Kirkland and First Lady Kathy A. Kirkland.

The theme for this year is “Called, Chosen, Faithful.”

A church banquet will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center on W.S. Young Drive in Killeen.

Attire is formal only.  

The annual celebration event concludes with the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday at 808 N. Eighth St., Killeen.

The guest preacher is Elder Edgar Usher, senior pastor of The Ship of Praise Church in Houston.

Benefit for men’s group scheduled for Sunday

A fundraiser by the Joshua Men’s Group is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke United Methodist Church.

Cheeseburgers or hamburgers are $2. Frito pie or cheese nachos go for $1.50. Pickles, sodas or bottled water are 50 cents each. The public is invited to attend at 102 E. Church St., Killeen.

New Life Prayer elder marrying Sunday

New Life Prayer Fellowship announces the marriage of Elder Joseph Dickerson, its pastor Sunday during the Holy Convocation at 2 p.m. by Bishop Ladell Thomas Jr. at 2 General Bruce Drive, Temple, to LaTosha Scott, M.S., M.Ed,

Scott, the daughter of Elder Marvin and Alberta Wynne, was born in Lubbock. For the past few years she has worked to complete a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and two master’s degrees, one in kinesiology and the second in education.

She is currently a ELA teacher at Rise Academy in Lubbock.

Men of Unity set to present Spirit of Giving

Men of Unity presents In the Spirit of Giving from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Killeen Civic & Conference Center, 3601 S. WS Young Drive.

The Men of Unity, Killeen Independent School District and the City of Killeen is hosting “Daddy Day.”

This is a free event designed to educate fathers who have children in the Killeen school district.

There will be breakout sessions filled with information. Topics include making sense of your finances, volunteering in the community, access to your child’s grades, just to name a few, along with featured guest speaker Neal Jeffery.
