Church to celebrate pastor’s anniversary

The public is invited to Second Street Baptist Church’s annual Pastor and Family Anniversary Service, celebrating 29 years. The service will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

The speaker will be Pastor Roy L. Harris of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship of Copperas Cove.

The service will be at 1602 N. Second St., Killeen.

Public invited to breakfast at church

A monthly breakfast will be served by the Knights of Columbus from 8 to 10:45 a.m. Sunday at St. Paul Chong Hasang Parish Center, 2412 Stilllhouse Lake Drive, Harker Heights.

The public is invited. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, biscuits, hash browns, fresh fruit, coffee, juice and milk will be served.

The cost for those 13 and older is $7 and for those ages 6-12 years is $6. Children ages 5 and younger eat free.

Public invited to pray at Hope Pregnancy Center

Area residents are invited to attend the monthly citywide time of prayer at Hope Pregnancy Center in Killeen from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. Participants petition the Lord on behalf of the unborn in the spirit of biblical unity.

Ministers group plans prayer luncheon Tuesday

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship monthly prayer luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at East Side Baptist Church, 500 N. W.S. Young Drive. All pastors, ministers and chaplains in the area are invited. Senior pastors who are unable to attend can send a representative.

A complimentary lunch will be provided.

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship is an informal group whose goal is to strengthen relationships among the spiritual leaders of the community. There are no dues, and membership is open to all pastors, ministers and chaplains in the area. The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month for fellowship and prayer.

Heights church plans 3-day revival this week

A Pre-Christmas Holy Ghost Revival will take place Tuesday through Thursday at Garden of Gethsemane Church of God in Christ.

The speakers will be Supt. Willie D. Grove, senior pastor, and Elder Varrick Butler.

The theme of the program is “Don’t Conclude My Case; I Still Have Praise in My Mouth,” from Acts 16:24-26.

The three-day revival will offer deliverance, healing, breaking of curses and financial breakthrough.

The church is at 111 Cox Drive in Harker Heights.

Killeen church offers free breakfast Dec. 10

Second Street Baptist Church in Killeen offers a free breakfast to the public every second Saturday of the month at the Moss Rose Community Center, 1103 E. Avenue E, Killeen.

The next breakfast is from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 10.

Killeen Healing Rooms to open Dec. 10

The Killeen Healing Rooms will be open from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 10 in the KPLE-TV building at 502 E. Elms Road in Killeen.

The group’s commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Prayer teams will be available to seek healing in the name of Jesus.

Church registering for sports programs

Skyline Baptist Church, 906 Trimmier Road, Killeen, would like to invite all boys and girls (kindergarten through sixth grade) to register for UPWARD basketball and cheerleading from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 10.

Registration will be at the Family Life Center gym. The cost per child for either basketball or cheerleading is $60.

Practices will begin the first week of January and games will begin Jan. 14.

Cove church planning German service Dec. 11

Immanuel Lutheran Church of Copperas Cove will celebrate its annual “Advent Gottesdienst,” a German service, on Dec. 11.

The public is invited to attend and to bring friends and neighbors for the day’s activities.

Guest preacher for the day will be the Rev. Otto Brillinger, who will come from Indiana to conduct the services. He will show slides of his mission travels in the parish hall at 9:30 a.m. and preach in English at the regular 10:30 a.m. church service time.

A potluck lunch will follow.

The German service will begin at 2 p.m., followed by refreshments in the parish hall.

This is a yearly community-wide special tradition at Immanuel.

The church is 2 miles north of Copperas Cove on Farm-to-Market 116 and 2 miles west on Lutheran Church Road.

Adult Bible study class registering members

The Temple-Belton Community Bible Study adult evening class is registering members for the fall/spring 30-week interdenominational Bible study of Isaiah.

The class meets Mondays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the small sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Belton, at Sixth and Main streets, Belton.

An introductory class will be held for anyone interested in learning more about Community Bible Study. Individuals may choose to participate in core groups for men, women or married couples.

Each week, participants receive a reading commentary on the previous week’s topic and a set of questions to work on each day covering the next week’s reading.

These questions are discussed in small groups of about 15. Following the small groups there is a short teaching over the same section of Scripture.

The class will break for Christmas and spring vacations and finish at the first of May 2017.
