Bible Way Missionary to host Watch Night event

Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church will hold its annual Watch Night Service, starting at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The public is invited to attend.

People’s Choice Worship plans Watch Night event

Watch Night 2013 at People’s Choice Worship Center begins at 10 p.m. Tuesday at 4710 E. Rancier Ave., Killeen.

Guest artists scheduled to perform are Keke Perez of Dallas, Chad Howard of Austin and Harmony of Praise of Dallas.

Public invited to New Year’s Eve service

Open Arms Outreach will hold a New Year’s Eve service at 11 p.m. Tuesday at 409 Eighth St. in Killeen.

Breakfast foods will be served after the service.

All activities are free and open to the public.

The ministry serves the community by providing emergency food, toiletry items, and financial assistance and counseling.

It also operates an adult literacy program and offers free educational tutoring for school-age children.

Christmas continues at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church with a celebration of word and song in the traditional program of Christmas Lessons and Carols at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Prayer teams available at healing rooms

The Killeen Healing Rooms are open from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the KPLE-TV building at 502 E. Elms Road in Killeen.

The group’s commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Prayer teams will be available to seek healing in the name of Jesus Christ.

Agape COGIC to host Women’s Day on Sunday

Women’s Day, under the leadership of Pastor Michael and Ella Johnson, begins at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Agape COGIC.

Cove ministerial group plans to meet Jan. 8

The Copperas Cove Ministerial Alliance will meet at noon Jan. 8 at the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church, 300 W. Avenue B in Copperas Cove.

New officers are president, Mark Kemp, pastor, First Baptist Church; vice president, Gary Hocker, pastor, Cove Nazarene; treasurer, Scott Smith, pastor, Crestview Christian; and secretary, Peggy Thompson, National Day of Prayer coordinator.

All Christian-based ministries and churches are invited to attend.

Lunch will be provided by Ed and Peggy Thompson, of New Beginnings ministry, which focuses on restoring marriages.

Donations for the lunch will go into the treasury of the group.

The organization is a sponsor of the Cove House Emergency Homeless Shelter.

Award-winning singer to perform at church

The Women’s Enrichment Ministry of First Baptist Church-Killeen hosts Shellie O’Neal, an award-winning playwright, actor, singer and teacher who portrays Fanny Crosby, one of the world’s most inspirational women, in a performance of story and song scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 9.

The $10 ticket includes the meal and child care.

Fundraiser for Cassie’s Bricks 4 Lymphoma set

Cassie’s Bricks 4 Lymphoma fundraiser is from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at Hillside Ministries, 3601 Edgefield St., Killeen.

The organization is building a legacy of hope one brick at a time for all who struggle with blood cancers.

Bricks 4 Lymphoma is a family-friendly event to raise funds and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in conjunction with the Team In Training program.

The cost is $10 to $30.

Banquet to raise money for maternity shelter

The 11th annual Our Lady of the Angels Maternity Shelter Banquet is from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton.

This year’s banquet will feature Sister Teresa Cruz, International Leadership Council for the Cordi-Marian Sisters and First House Parent at OLAMS. 

Social hour is from 6 to 7 p.m. The dinner and program are from 7:15 to 9 p.m.

All proceeds will be used for operating and maintaining the shelter.

Tickets are $50 per person or $375 for a table of eight.

Adams Chapel planning New Year’s Eve service

Adams Chapel AME Church will have a New Year’s Eve service at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, with the Adams Chapel Voices of Faith and the Mime Ministry.

Dress is casual. Breakfast will be served after the service. The church is at 125 E. Arlo Road in Harker Heights.
