Clothing, hygiene giveaway set for today

A clothing and hygiene giveaway for the community is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Temple of Faith Apostolic Ministries, 808 N. Eighth St., Killeen,

The giveaway is sponsored by the Dare2Care Outreach Department.

Transformation presentation planned

Compass Ministries presents Strategies for Regional Transformation today at 9:30 a.m., 2 and 7 p.m. at Shilo Inn, 3701 S. W.S. Young Drive, Killeen.

This six-hour training is designed to equip and advance participants as they hear principles and testimonies of regions being transformed through prophetic intercession and apostolic alignment and mobilization.

Speakers are Dr. William Hope Taylor of International Leadership Embassy, Gail Long of Freedom’s Fire Ministries and Worship Leader Jamie Lipe.

Gospel singers, groups to perform today

Gospel Explosion is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Killeen Arts & Activities Center, 801 N. Fourth St.

Gospel performers are Comanche Chapel Gospel Choir, Comanche Chapel Brotherhood Choir, Soldier Choir, Voice of Hope-New Hope Worship Anointed Praised, M.A.J.estic Sisters of Praise, Gospel Traveler, and Albert Reed Gospel Ensemble.

Guest performers are Thomas Bryan, Toschia Moffett Young and Renata P. Hanks.

Bethel Church plans weekend celebration

Homecoming services begin at 7 p.m. today at Bethel Church in Killeen. 

The Charles King Singers reunite for only the second time in some 15 years.

The Messenger Quartet will be featured in the 10:30 a.m. worship service.  

The tradition continues at 3 p.m. as the celebration concludes with a community singing featuring Bethel’s Wallace Family Band.

Greater Vision to host three-day revival

A revival at Greater Vision Community Church is Sunday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. daily.

The theme is “Christ Working In Us.” Galatians 2:20.

Guest speaker from Petersburg, Va., is Pastor Robert Diggs Sr.

St. Martin’s Episcopal to welcome guest priest

St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Copperas Cove will have a guest priest from Kenya and his wife, who also is an ordained Episcopal priest, to conduct Sunday’s 11 a.m. worship service, serve the Eucharist and baptize three new members.

There also will be a potluck meal served after the service. The public is invited.

Bible Way Missionary celebrating anniversary

Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 33rd church anniversary at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Guest speaker will be Pastor Joe Bedford of the Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Waco. Music will be rendered by the Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church choir.

The Unity Baptist Church will host its annual fall revival Monday through Friday.

The lecturer is Pastor Roger Skepple of Berean Bible Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga.

Revivalist is Pastor Eddie Jacks of the Resurrected Reformed Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The youth revivalist is Elder J. Michael Frazier of the Crossover Bible Fellowship Church in Houston.

Services begin at 6:45 p.m.

Free food giveaway scheduled for today

Open Arms Outreach will hold its free monthly food pantry beginning at 9 a.m. today at the ministry’s outreach center at 413 Eighth St. in Killeen.

In addition to the free food giveaway, breakfast burritos will be served at no charge.

The food pantry will remain open as long as the food lasts. The free food pantry is part of a community outreach program held on the third Saturday of each month.

This ministry serves the community by providing emergency food, toiletry items, and financial assistance and counseling. It also operates an adult literacy program and offers free educational tutoring for school-age children.

The ministry’s Sunday activities are at the main church building at 409 Eighth St., next door to the church’s outreach center. Bible study is offered at 7 p.m. every Wednesday at the outreach center at 413 Eighth St.

‘Women with Power’ revival set this week

Praise and Deliverance House of Prayer will host its annual citywide “Women with Power” revival Wednesday through Friday in downtown Killeen.

The theme is Power of Prayer. Acts 12:5.

The revival begins at 7 nightly.

The revivalist will be Evangelist Gloria Cunningham of Beth El House of Prayer For All Nations from Houston.

Special music will be performed by various local churches.

The public is invited.

Women’s Conference kicks off Thursday

The Temple of Faith Apostolic Ministries will host the fourth annual Women’s Conference on Thursday through Saturday.

Elder Mark E. Kirkland is the pastor.

  The event culminates the celebration of the Anointed Women of Divine Faith. The theme was inspired by First Lady Kathy Kirkland of Temple of Faith and blesses women of all ages.

Thursday and Friday, the service will start at 7 p.m. On Thursday, the speaker is Co-Pastor Misty Duirden from Killeen, and Friday’s speaker is Evangelist Corene Gardner from Killeen. On Saturday, classes are from 9 a.m. to noon. Women of all ages are invited.

Evangelist Janice Davis, of Seattle, will speak at 5 p.m. and also on Sunday morning at 11 a.m.

Marriage enrichment course offered

A free veterans and military marriage enrichment course is from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Patriot Retreat Center, 10208 Cedar Knob Church Road, Salado.

The program is guided by a veteran married couple in a safe, relaxed, fun atmosphere.

Engaged couples are welcome and get $60 off a Texas marriage license.

The course includes all materials, lunch and refreshments.

German Sausage Fest planned for Nov. 2

The annual German Sausage Fest is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 2 at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Feast on handcrafted German-style sausage and side dishes while tapping your toes to live music provided by a local “old-time” band.

Sausage can only be purchased at the fest.

Side dishes include sauerkraut, German-style potato salad, green beans, home-fried potatoes, fresh brotchen rolls and desserts.

Adult dinners are $8 each and dinners for children younger than 12 are $5.50 each.

Take-out dinners are available. Bulk sausage sold on a first-come, first-serve basis for $6 per pound.

Cakes and desserts will be priced separately.

A silent auction for handmade gift baskets will be held.

True Deliverance to host youth event

Year of the Champion — Good vs. Evil, a youth explosion, is set for Nov. 15 at True Deliverance Ministries.

‘Family and Friends’ event planned Oct. 27

Tabernacle of Praise and Worship Center’s annual “Family and Friends” celebration starts at 4 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Killeen Arts & Activities Center in downtown Killeen.
