UMHB drama team to visit Heights church

First Baptist Church of Harker Heights, 100 E. Ruby, will host the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor drama team at 11 a.m. Sunday.

The church will also host missionaries Richard and Joyce Roberts, with Hope for the Hungry.

They will talk about their work in the Philippines.

Immanuel Women hosts fall bazaar Nov. 5

The Women of Immanuel Lutheran Church will host their annual fall bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5 at 3801 Cunningham Road, Killeen.

Handmade crafts, baby clothes, jewelry, mosaic pieces, woven baskets, nativities, quilts, photos and cards will be available.

The popular Sweet Shop, soups and sandwiches will be available all day.

Proceeds go to local charities and global ministries.

Ladies of Charity set holiday bazaar Nov. 5-6

Harker Heights Ladies of Charity will have a holiday bazaar Nov. 5 and 6 at St. Paul’s Parish Center at 2412 Stillhouse Road.

On Nov. 5, the hours will be 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Nov. 6 from 8 to 11 a.m.

There will be a variety of items for sale to include handmade crafts, baked goods, books, jewelry, fabric, Christmas, religious gifts, and many other items, along with a holiday raffle.

Adult Bible study class registering members

The Temple-Belton Community Bible Study adult evening class is registering members for the fall/spring 30-week interdenominational Bible study of Isaiah.

The class meets Mondays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the small sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Belton, at Sixth and Main streets, Belton.

An introductory class will be held for anyone interested in learning more about Community Bible Study. Individuals may choose to participate in core groups for men, women or married couples.

Each week participants receive a reading commentary on the previous week’s topic and a set of questions to work on each day covering the next week’s reading.

These questions are discussed in small groups of about 15. Following the small groups there is a short teaching over the same section of Scripture.

The class will break for Christmas and spring vacations and finish at the first of May 2017. For more information, call the class coordinator at 254-773-1842.

Ladies In Prayer Station set to meet Nov. 5

The Ladies In Prayer Station will meet at the Courtyard by Marriott on Nov. 5, beginning at 9 a.m.

A second prayer will begin at 5 p.m.

LIPS will be a part of the helping the hands that feed the homeless during the evening program that is spearheaded by Missionary Theresa Anderson.

Nov. 16 is the deadline to sign up for Thanksgiving baskets being offered by True Deliverance Ministries in Killeen.

Heights church to mark 25-year anniversary

Garden of Gethsemane COGIC will celebrate its 25 years in ministry this month.

The celebration will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday and at 4 p.m. Oct. 30.

The church was founded by the Rev. Willie D. Grove and first lady Florence Grove.

Willie D. Grove now serves as superintendent of the C.H. Mason District of the Texas Southeast Jurisdiction of COGIC, and his wife is a district missionary.

Speakers for the anniversary celebration on Oct. 28 will be Pastor Robert Curtis of New Life Church and Fellowship in Temple.

The guest speaker on Oct. 30 will be Apostle Sadallie Cole of True Deliverance Ministries in Killeen.

Garden of Gethsemane COGIC is at 111 Cox Drive in Harker Heights.

Recovery group meets at Killeen church

Free breakfast offered 2nd Saturday of month

Second Street Baptist Church in Killeen offers a free breakfast to the public every second Saturday of the month at the Moss Rose Community Center, 1103 E. Avenue E, Killeen.

The next breakfast is from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 12.
