Ladies in Prayer Station to meet today in Killeen

Ladies in Prayer Station will be at 9 a.m. today at the Holy Temple Church of our Lord Jesus Apostolic Church.

The church is at 1110 Bundrant Drive, across the street from St. Joseph Catholic Church on Rancier Avenue in Killeen.

Mike Satterfield to speak at First Baptist-Killeen

Mike Satterfield, noted evangelist, Bible teacher and founder of Field of Grace Ministries, will be speaking at the First Baptist Church Killeen at 9:45 and 11 a.m. Sunday.

Veritas, a vocal band of five powerful singers will perform at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Veritas has been gaining momentum over the past several years and has sung on stages around the world, including a recent performance in 2012 for former President George W. Bush.

Financial Peace University’s course begins at 4:45 p.m. Sunday. Sign up in the church office and reserve a kit ($93).

The Power of Love: Building Relationships That Work (part of Focus on the Family’s series Essentials of Parenting) starts at 4:45 p.m. Sunday.

Cost is $10.

The first session of “Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God” begins at 4:45 p.m. Sunday. This 12-week video series taught by Henry Blackaby, Richard Blackaby and Claude King is based on seven Scriptural realities that teach how to develop a true relationship with the Creator.

Cost is $12.

Agape COGIC invites public to Sunday service

The Agape COGIC Pastor’s Aide presents Dr. Gilbert Gillum, superintendent of the Greater Waco District and the pastor of Living Word COGIC in Waco, at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The public is invited.

Agape COGIC is under the leadership of Pastor Michael and First Lady Ella Johnson.

CBS to hold first Bible study class Monday

The Temple-Belton Community Bible Study, CBS, adult co-ed evening class will study Romans this fall.

The first class will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monday in the small sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Belton, Sixth and Main streets.

An introductory session will be held at 7:30 p.m. for anyone interested in learning more about CBS and registering for the 30-week in-depth interdenominational study.

The class is open to all adults. Individuals may choose to participate in core groups for young adults, men, women or married couples.

Each week participants will receive a reading commentary on the previous week’s topic and a set of questions to work on each day covering the next week’s reading.

On Monday nights, these questions will be discussed in small groups.

Following the small groups there is a short lecture over the same section of scripture.

The class will break for the Christmas and spring vacation and will finish in April 2014.

Community Bible Study is nationwide Bible study for men and women of different backgrounds who are interested in an in-depth weekly study of God’s word. As of spring, 2013, there were 686 classes in the U.S.

C.H. Mason Memorial District Budget Conference will convene at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the Garden of Gethsemane COGIC in Harker Heights.

Theme is Follow Peace With All Men. Hebrews 12:14.

Bishop A.L. Thomas Jr., Texas Southeast Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, is the guest speaker.

District Missionary is Florence Grove, C.H. Mason District Missionary.

Superintendent Willie D. Grove is the Superintendent of the C.H. Mason District.

True Deliverance to hold fundraiser Monday

True Deliverance Ministries presents Building Fund fundraiser service Monday through Sept. 15 at 7 p.m.

Details also will be provided on food pantry, clothing closet, homeless shelter and a youth center.

Guest speaker scheduled Sept. 15 at Trinity Baptist

Trinity Baptist Church in Harker Heights will have a guest speaker at its morning service Sept. 15. This will be part of a mission emphasis and the Mary Hill Davis offering.

Sandy Wisdom-Martin, MSW, was born and raised in southern Illinois. She is the executive director-treasurer for WMU of Texas. Sandy has a BS in social work from Southern Illinois University and a masters in social work from The Carver School of Church Social Work at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She served in the areas of WMU and Church and Community Ministries with Arkansas Baptist State Convention for 10 years. Then she served with Illinois Baptist State Association for nearly 10 years in a similar capacity.

‘Back to Church Sunday’ set for Sept. 15

St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church will celebrate “Back to Church Sunday” on Sept. 15.

All area residents are invited to come and bring a friend.

All sorts of ministries will offer their work at the church’s ministry fair that day.

Gospel concert set for Sept. 20 in Temple

A gospel concert begins at 7 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Temple College Mary Alice Marshall Auditorium, 2600 S. First. St., Temple.

The concert features the southern gospel group, the McKameys, the Wallace Family Band, and guest Linda Jackson.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m.

Vendor spaces available for craft fair in November

Vendor spaces are available for a craft fair on Nov. 23 at Truth and Deliverance Ministries, 203 S. Second St., Copperas Cove.

This event, open to the community, will have food, face painting and balloon art.

Join us for a day of relaxation during this weekend before Thanksgiving.

Vendor space is $35 until Nov. 15. After Nov. 15, vendor space will be $65.

First United Methodist Church will offer the classes at 5 p.m. Sunday and Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. at 3501 E. Elms Road.
