Tabernacle of Praise to host fish fry today
A fish fry hosted by the Women of Empowerment of Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center begins at 11 a.m. today.
Dinner, at $8 a plate, consists of two pieces of fish and the choice of three sides from corn on the cob, hushpuppies, slaw and green beans. Dessert is apple pie or peach cobbler.

Service geared to men, but open to everyone
Open Arms Outreach will host a special men’s service and fellowship beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday at 409 Eighth St. in Killeen. The service is geared toward men, but it is open to everyone and is part of the regular Sunday morning fellowship time.
This ministry serves the community by providing emergency food, toiletry items, and financial assistance and counseling. It also operates an adult literacy program and offers free educational tutoring for school-age children.
Open Arms Outreach offers Sunday school at 9 a.m. every Sunday followed by a 10 a.m. fellowship. A Sunday evening fellowship is at 6 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month.
A food pantry is offered at 9 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month at the ministry’s outreach center at 413 Eighth St., where Bible study is offered at 7 p.m. every Wednesday.
Community Baptist plans gospel singing
Community Baptist Church will host old-time gospel singing Sunday.
The worship service is from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by a covered-dish luncheon. Singing begins at 1:15 p.m.
The church is 10 miles south of Killeen at State Highway 195 and Briggs Road.

Mt. Zion UMC to host women’s day program
Mt. Zion United Methodist Church will have its annual United Methodist annual women’s day program Sunday.
Sister Lee Helen Martin of Belton Church of God in Christ will speak at the 11 a.m. service.
First lady Sandra Harrison of Eighth Street Baptist Church will be the guest speaker at the 3:30 p.m. service.

The New Bethel Christian Worship Center will celebrate its monthly gospel extravaganza at 5 p.m. Sunday.

The monthly Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship prayer luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at East Side Baptist Church, 500 N. W.S. Young Drive.
