Local communities invited to free Thanksgiving meals

KILLEEN

A Thanksgiving meal begins at 11:30 a.m. today at Open Arms Outreach ministry’s outreach center.

Location: 413 Eighth St., downtown between Modern TV & Appliance and the Armed Services YMCA.

The fourth annual community Thanksgiving meal, hosted by Jesus Hope & Love Mission, is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.

Donations of cooked turkeys, hams, pies or drinks are appreciated.

Volunteers are needed for either the first shift (9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) or the second shift (12:30 to 3 p.m.). To volunteer, email jesushope2010@gmail.com.

The mission is at 818 N. Fourth St. (behind H-E-B in downtown Killeen). For more information on the event, call 254-304-2170 or 254-291-2314.

The Salvation Army and Faith Point Church are partnering to serve a Thanksgiving meal from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Thursday at Rivers of Living Waters Ministry.

Meals will be delivered to local households that aren’t able to attend. Advance notice would be appreciated.

A Thanksgiving dinner, hosted by True Deliverance Ministries International, is from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday at 508 Hall Ave., behind the post office on 10th Street.

COPPERAS COVE

A traditional Thanksgiving dinner starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church.

Location: 101 W. Avenue F, near the public library and main fire station.

Truth and Deliverance Ministries will provide Thanksgiving dinner for the Copperas Cove Police Department and the community Thursday.

Eat at the church or get a plate to go.

Thanksgiving Praise and Worship Service, sponsored by LIPS (Ladies in Prayer Stations), begins at 6 p.m. today at the Cathedral of Deliverance and Praise COGIC, 702 Harley Drive, Harker Heights.

Truth and Deliverance Ministries hosting craft fair today

Truth and Deliverance Ministries will host a craft fair today.

The fair includes local vendors with various products to include embroidered items, gift baskets, hats, essential oils and other items.

There also will be free balloons and face painting for children. 

Refreshments will be available for purchase. 

The church, under the leadership of Bishop Eric Cain, is at 203 S. Second St., Copperas Cove.

Evangelist from Haiti to speak at Harker Heights Community Church

A worship service begins at 11 a.m. Sunday at Harker Heights Community Church, 202 E. Beeline Lane.

Evangelist Josephine C. Marcellin of Haiti will deliver the morning message. Marcellin coordinates resources for Haitian children.

Pre-Thanksgiving revival set for Sunday at Agape COGIC

A pre-Thanksgiving revival begins at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Agape COGIC, 3716-C E.Veterans Memorial Blvd,, Killeen.

Special guest revivalist is Prophetess Mary Lou Cole of Troy, Mich. Cole also will minister at 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Public invited to ‘Thank You, Jesus’ celebration at St. Christopher’s

Area residents are invited to celebrate Christ the King at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church on Sunday. This is the annual “Thank You, Jesus” celebration in preparation for Thanksgiving and Advent.

After the 10:30 a.m. service, all are invited to a fellowship meal. The church is providing the meat. Everyone is urged to bring a side dish or dessert.

A Christmas revival with Evangelist Roland Starr is Dec. 1-4 at Tabernacle Baptist Church and Christian School.

Revival services are 10 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Dec. 1 and at 7 nightly Dec. 2-4.

Starr has written many books and pamphlets on Christian living.

Night of Sunday Best Praise and Gospel scheduled Dec. 1

A Night of Sunday Best Praise and Gospel begins at 5 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center.

Slated to perform are Le Andria Johnson, Joshua Rogers and Alexis Spight.

Doors open at 4 p.m.

General admission tickets are $30 per person. Tickets for VIP seating are $45 each.

First Baptist Church in Harker Heights to host family block party Dec. 7

A family block party is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 7 at First Baptist Church, 100 E. Ruby Road, Harker Heights.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Activities include a rock wall, bounce house, ring toss, cake walk, door prizes, music by DJ Wolf, food, skits and a magic show by Don Lentz.

Christmas concerts planned Dec. 9-10 at Faith Point Church in Killeen

The Central Texas Master Singers Choir and Orchestra will perform its annual Christmas concerts Dec. 9 at Faith Point Church in Killeen, 3504 E. Central Texas Expressway, and Dec. 10 at First Baptist Church in Belton, 506 S. Main St.

Both performances are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $20 per person with advanced purchase, $25 at the door. Seating is limited.
