Immanuel Lutheran announces activities

Today is Texas Trash Off Day, and Immanuel Lutheran Church will be cleaning its portion of the city.

Everyone wanting to help can meet at 8 a.m. at Immanuel’s cemetery on Old Farm-to-Market 440, Killeen.

Today at 9:30 a.m, the women of Immanuel will have their monthly breakfast and Bible study.

An Easter egg hunt for children through fifth grade begins at 1 p.m. today and is sponsored by the Luther League and Junior Lutherans.

Bring Easter baskets. Games and activities are being planned.

Palm Sunday worship services are at 8 and 10:30 a.m. Carmen Hayes and Tamina Hunter will be confirmed at the 10:30 a.m. service. A reception is planned after the service.

GUMC-Cove women to host spring festival

A spring festival, hosted by the United Methodist Women of Grace United Methodist Church, is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at 101 W. Avenue F in Copperas Cove.

A soup-and-sandwich lunch will be available, along with craft and gift items, baked goods, books, white elephant tables and various vendors.

Proceeds go to local, national, and worldwide missions, such as Meals on Wheels, Cove House bus tokens, school supplies, and support of a family in Africa.

The youth group will have a car wash fundraiser during the spring festival to support a mission trip in the summer.

Killeen Healing Rooms open today

The Killeen Healing Rooms are open from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. today in the KPLE-TV building at 502 E. Elms Road in Killeen.

Bible Way youth group to perform musical

The youth group of Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church will present a musical at 6 p.m. today and at 3 p.m. Sunday during its annual day observance.

Area youth choirs also will perform.

The speaker for the observance will be Pastor Kerry Burkley, of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, Waco.

New Sunset Community to host Easter egg hunt

An Easter egg hunt is from 2 to 5 p.m. April 19 at New Sunset Community Church.

Hot Dogs, refreshments, bounce houses, puppet show and Easter egg hunt for ages 2-12.

This event is free and open to the public.

Fort Hood chapel set to host Passover Seder

A Jewish Passover Seder starts at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Spirit of Fort Hood Chapel.

A suggested donation is for adults, and $10 for children over 8.

Outreach ministry offers food giveaway April 19

Open Arms Outreach will hold its free monthly food pantry beginning at 9 a.m. April 19 at the ministry’s outreach center at 413 Eighth St. in Killeen.

In addition to the free food giveaway, breakfast burritos will be served at no charge. The food pantry will remain open only as long as the food lasts.

The free food pantry is part of a community outreach program held on the third Saturday of each month.

This ministry serves the community by providing emergency food, toiletry items, and financial assistance and counseling. It also operates an adult literacy program and offers free educational tutoring for school-age children.

Harker Heights UMC plans Easter celebration

The annual Easter Celebration and Egg Hunt at Harker Heights United Methodist Church is from 3 to 5 p.m. April 19 at 208 E. Cardinal Lane.

Activities include bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals, a magic show, a coloring contest, music and food.

First Baptist Church-Salado to host concert

The Salado Community Chorus Spring Concert begins at 7 p.m. April 24 at First Baptist Church-Salado.

The concert is free and open to the public.

A Mexican cuisine meal prepared by Silvia Villarreal will be served at 5:45 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Praise and Deliverance to sell fish dinners

A fish dinner fundraiser is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Praise and Deliverance House of Prayer.

The two-piece fish dinner includes two side dishes, dessert, a roll and a drink.

Delivery is available for orders of four dinners or more.

Ministry set to host wellness event today

The quarterly Health and Wellness Vendor Blender is from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Rivers of Living Waters Ministry.

Medical volunteers will perform the following services: blood pressure screening, glucose level testing, height and weight measurements, body mass index, sexually transmitted disease testing, and information on cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Also, community services include women’s, infants’ and children’s health assessments, and financial and credit assessments.

All services are free. Free drinks, food and door prizes will be available.

Various vendors will be on-site at 507 N. Gray St., across from First National Bank in downtown Killeen.

Legacy Lounge plans series of events in area

The Legacy Lounge Corporation will host a series of Christian Spoken Word events in the Central Texas area. The first session is at 7:30 p.m. April 25.
