Temple of Faith hosting fellowship today

The Temple of Faith Apostolic Ministries will host Heart of Texas Fellowship at 6 p.m. today.

Elder Mark E. Kirkland is the pastor.

The guest preacher for this event is Elder Harvey Hale Sr.

Hale has been called “The Preaching Machine” or Elder Hale “Hail Storm.” Hale is currently under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Douglass Thompson’s Genesis Full Life Fellowship Church in San Antonio.

The churches in the Central Texas area that are affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World and the community are invited.

Killeen Healing Rooms’ teams available today

The Killeen Healing Rooms are open from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. today in the KPLE-TV building at 502 E. Elms Road in Killeen.

The group’s commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Prayer teams will be available to seek healing in the name of Jesus Christ.

First UMC-Killeen sets fall carnival today

A fall carnival is scheduled at First United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at 3501 E. Elms Road in Killeen.

The carnival, held in conjunction with the church’s annual pumpkin patch, will feature hay rides, food, games, bounce houses, pony rides, petting zoo, rock-wall and more.

Public invited to concert at Greater Vision

Greater Vision Community Church and the GVCC Music Ministry invites the public to its annual Fall Choir Concert “I will sing a new song” Psalms 150:1-6 at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church family plans to celebrate appreciation services for Pastor J.A. Moland and Sister Felicia Moland on Sunday.

The guest speaker for the 10 a.m. service will be Pastor Frank L. Curtis, Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Hazelhurst, Miss.

Guest speaker for the 3 p.m. service will be Pastor S.D. McMullen and the Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church, Copperas Cove.

Cindy Berry to perform at First Baptist-Killeen

The Worship Choir and Orchestra of First Baptist Church Killeen will present a concert of the music of Cindy Berry at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Berry will direct her own works and give testimony of the events in her life that inspired her music.

East Lake Baptist revival set Sunday-Wednesday

A revival will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday at East Lake Baptist Church, 3213 Lake Road in Killeen.

Messages will be delivered by Pastor Floyd Gage, Pastor John Hallum, Pastor John Stevenson, Associate Pastor Jesse Harris Jr. and Brother Joe Burt, all from the local area.

The Bibleway COGIC, Evangelist Department, presents a one-night gospel explosion at 7 p.m. Oct. 18.

Free food giveaway set for Oct. 19

Open Arms Outreach will hold its free monthly food pantry beginning at 9 a.m. Oct. 19 at the ministry’s outreach center at 413 Eighth St. in Killeen.

In addition to the free food giveaway, breakfast burritos will be served at no charge.

The food pantry will remain open as long as the food lasts. The free food pantry is part of a community outreach program held on the third Saturday of each month.

This ministry serves the community by providing emergency food, toiletry items, and financial assistance and counseling. It also operates an adult literacy program and offers free educational tutoring for school-age children.

The ministry’s Sunday activities are at the main church building at 409 Eighth St., next door to the church’s outreach center. Bible study is offered at 7 p.m. every Wednesday at the outreach center at 413 Eighth St.

Bethel Church plans weekend celebration

A special celebration gets underway at 7 p.m. Oct. 19 at Bethel Church. 

The Rev. Randy Binion will be the pulpit guest, and the Charles King Singers will provide special music. 

Binion has ministered in Central Texas for more than 25 years in pastoral and evangelistic ministry. Binion, along with his wife, Melody, and their children also traveled for several years as the “Singing Binion Family.”

The Charles King Singers are several members of the Original Faith Temple Choir and band who sang and toured together for 17 years. 

John Abbey was the pianist and arranger for the group, and now pastors Bethel Church. 

Binion was the bass player for Faith Temple in the early days and will play for the singers at this “reunion concert.” 

The Messenger Quartet will be featured at 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday. 

The Messenger Quartet has been singing in Texas for nearly 20 years and has recorded several CDs. David Schwertner, Les Baker, Charles King and Josh Wallace do the singing and Abbey plays the piano. 

The Bethel Church Praise and Worship Team will be featured.

Bethel Church Community Singing will cap off the weekend of celebration at 3 p.m. The Wallace Family Band will be the featured guests.

Area gospel music lovers and friends of Bethel are invited to share in this time of celebration for the 63 years of continuous ministry of Bethel Church.

Ministry to sell fish dinners Oct. 19

Guiding Light Ministries will sell fish dinners beginning at 9 a.m. Oct. 19.

Advance tickets may be purchased by calling 254-247-4382 or 254-669-2233.

The menu consists of two pieces of fish, green beans, potato salad or coleslaw, bread, cake and a drink for $7.50 Dinners are for pickup or delivery.

‘Women with Power’ revival set for Oct. 23-25

Praise and Deliverance House of Prayer will host its annual citywide “Women with Power” revival Oct. 23-25 in downtown Killeen.

The theme is Power of Prayer. Acts 12:5.

The revival begins at 7 nightly.

The revivalist will be Evangelist Gloria Cunningham of Beth El House of Prayer For All Nations from Houston.

Special music will be performed by various local churches.

The public is invited.

Churches to present Harvest Fest on Oct. 26

Killeen First Church of the Nazarene, the Maxdale Cowboy Church and Westside Baptist Church present Harvest Fest 2013 from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 26.

Harvest Fest, with free hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks and candy also will feature rock climbing, bounce houses, a petting zoo, pony rides, hay rides, games and prizes and Trunk or Treat.

The public is invited to the festival at 951 Stagecoach Road in Killeen. Requested donation for admission is a can of food to be donated to Jesus Hope and Love.

Woman of Immanuel to host Fall Bazaar

The Women of Immanuel will have a Fall Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 26.

There will be a sweet shop to purchase home-baked items for the sweet tooth; hand crafts will be available for gift giving.

Lunch will be served from noon to 2 p.m.

A “Texas cabin” king-size quilt will be given away at 4 p.m.

First UMC offers free, safe trick-or-treating

Free and safe trick-or-treating, Trunk or Treat, at First United Methodist Church is from 5 to 6 p.m. Oct. 27 at 3501 E. Elms Road.

Marriage enrichment course offered

A free veterans and military marriage enrichment course is from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Patriot Retreat Center, 10208 Cedar Knob Church Road, Salado.

The program is guided by a veteran married couple in a safe, relaxed, fun atmosphere.

Engaged couples are welcome and get $60 off a Texas marriage license.

The course includes all materials, lunch and refreshments.

Trinity Baptist to host fall festival

Trinity Baptist Church in Harker Heights will have its annual fall festival from 4 to 5 p.m. Oct. 27.

Admission is one can or box of nonperishable goods to be donated to the Harker Heights Food Care Center.

There will be a bounce house and slide, games, booths, a cake walk, as well as free hot dogs, popcorn and snow cones.

There will be a chili cook-off sponsored by Sunday school classes that everyone will help judge.

Children are invited to wear costumes.

Foundation UMC plans fall festival

Foundation United Methodist Church invites children to Fall Festival: Heroes Unmasked from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 27.

Children and their families will play more than a dozen carnival games, decorate cookies to take home, do crafts, enjoy face painting and balloon animals.

Admission and refreshments, including Frito pie, popcorn, coffee, cocoa and cider are free.

Fall festival to benefit food pantry

First Baptist Church of Trimmier invites the public to attend the “Trunk or Treat” fall festival from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.

There will be food, games, inflatables and more.

Nonperishable food item donations will be accepted to benefit the Killeen Food Pantry. 

Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

German Sausage Fest set for Nov. 2

The annual German Sausage Fest is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 2 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Feast on handcrafted German-style sausage and side dishes while tapping your toes to live music provided by a local “old-time” band.

Sausage can only be purchased at the fest. Side dishes include sauerkraut, German-style potato salad, green beans, home-fried potatoes, fresh brotchen rolls and desserts.

Adult dinners are $8 each and dinners for children younger than 12 are $5.50 each.

Take-out dinners are available. Bulk sausage sold on a first-come, first-serve basis for $6 per pound.

Cakes and desserts will be priced separately.

A silent auction for handmade gift baskets will be held.

True Deliverance to host youth event

Year of the Champion — Good vs. Evil, a youth explosion, is set for Nov. 15 at True Deliverance Ministries.
