English Cursillo to conduct Ultreya

The Diocese of Austin English Cursillo will have its monthly Fort Hood Area Ultreya from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the old parish hall of St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church, 1000 E. Farm-to-Market 2410, Harker Heights.

Prayer for the unborn set for Monday

Prayer, petitioning the Lord on behalf of the unborn, will be offered from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday.

The public is invited to attend the monthly citywide prayer at Hope Pregnancy Center in Southpointe Center directly south of the Copper Mountain post office on WS Young Drive in suite 301-C, Killeen.

Ministers fellowship planning luncheon

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship monthly prayer luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at East Side Baptist Church, 500 N. W.S. Young Drive.

All pastors, ministers and chaplains in the Killeen area are invited. Senior pastors who are unable to attend are urged to send a representative.

A complimentary lunch will be provided.

The Killeen Christian Ministers Fellowship is an informal organization whose goal is to strengthen relationships among the spiritual leaders of the community. There are no dues or fees, and membership is open to all pastors, ministers and chaplains in the local area. The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month for fellowship and prayer.

St. Christopher’s offers stress relief

Meridian tapping works to release negative emotions and beliefs that many times are the root of problems and pain.

On Thursday, Marty Brickley presents a Lenten program using this methodology to help relieve stress, anxiety and depression.

The program begins at 6:30 p.m., preceded by a light supper of soup and bread at 6 p.m.

The evening will conclude with a service of sung Holden Evening Prayer.

The program will be at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 2800 Trimmier Road, Killeen.

Durocher family to perform Friday

The Durocher Family Ministries Concert begins at 7 p.m. Friday at the Soldiers’ Hospitality House/Cadence International.

With nine of their 12 children, this homeschooling family continues to travel the country, presenting a message of hope for children, the family, the church and the nation.

The public is invited to enjoy the delightful sounds of American acoustic music, a blend of traditional music and spiritual songs using guitars, banjo, mandolin, violin, cello, upright bass and flute.

There is no cost but a free-will offering will be taken.

Church’s Men’s Club hosts banquet

The Men’s Club of Grace Lutheran Church in Killeen held its 46th annual Sweetheart Banquet on Feb. 15 at a local restaurant.

After the meal, emcee Loren Stroup made remarks, gave out door prizes and conducted the contests.

Lynette Hickman was recognized for her continued work in maintaining the Men’s Club scrapbook.

The Men’s Club is an auxiliary of the Lutheran Hour Ministries and works to support local community nonprofit organizations and Lutheran Hour Ministries mission work throughout the world.

Public invited to brotherhood program

The Praise and Deliverance House of Prayer will have a brotherhood program at 5 p.m. March 16.

The theme is “Let the Men Say AMEN.”

Keynote speaker is Elder Larry D. Thomas Jr.

Men’s retreat set for March 21-23

Aaron’s Beard Men’s Retreat is March 21-23 at Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area in Belton.

Excellent Covenant plans conference

The Promise of Her Covenant 2013 is April 12-13 at Excellent Covenant Powerhouse Ministries.

The theme is “My Grace Is Sufficient For Thee” II Corinthians 12:9.

Guest speakers from Albany, Ga., are Apostle Charlene Glover with Trumpet of God Ministries and Training Center; and Apostle Tracy Walker with ECC- International.

From Baumholder, Germany, Pastor Olayinka Oloyede of Glory of God Ministries is scheduled to speak, along with Elder Sandra K. Twyman of Lighthouse Ministry, Aberdeen, Md.

Garage sale fundraiser Friday

A garage sale fundraiser for Child Abuse Prevention Center-Aware Central Texas is from 8 a.m. to noon Friday at 3906 Antelope Trail in Temple.

Donations for the garage sale may be dropped off by 4 p.m. Thursday at the above address.

For monetary donations, make checks payable to Aware Central Texas, a nonprofit organization. Receipts will be mailed to donors.

Sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the goal is to raise $5,000.

KPLE-TV Banquet scheduled for Tuesday

The annual KPLE-TV Banquet begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Parish Center, St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church.

Entertainment for the evening is Dennis Swanberg, also known as America’s Minister of Encouragement and The Swan, is an American Christian comedian and former evangelical pastor.

His act often consists of impersonations of celebrities such as James Stewart, Mr. Haney from Green Acres, Forrest Gump, Paul Lynde and Barney Fife.

Swanberg also impersonates evangelical preachers including Billy Graham, W. A. Crisswell and Adrian Rogers.

Tickets are $25 per person. Buffet is by Chick-fil-A. Table sponsorships are available.

New worship service begins March 9

Beginning March 9, on the second Saturday of the month at 5 p.m., a new worship service will start for members of the community.

“Compassionate Worship” is for those in the community who are unable to attend a regular service due to medical reasons, handicapped, disability, etc.

Compassionate Worship is open to everyone.
