GATESVILLE — John Carter Cash, the son of country music legends Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, will headline the “Cash on Cash” concert Thursday at Coryell Community Church.

Singer/songwriter Robin Lees of Boerne will lead the “celebration in worship” portion of the concert, said Debbie Hill of Coryell Community Church.

Billed as “an evening of celebration,” the concert is sponsored by Spiritual Outdoor Adventures, an Alaska-based Christian ministry of Jimmy Sites.

The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the church, 115 N. Levita Road in Gatesville. Tickets are $25, and proceeds will benefit Sites’ nonprofit television and outdoor ministry.

A Grammy-winning music producer, singer, songwriter and author, Cash will perform a tribute to the life and music of his famous family.

John Carter Cash, 43, is the grandson of Maybelle Carter and the only child Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash had together, according to his online biography.

Lees majored in voice performance at Florida State University and has more than 20 years of musical experience in various genres, according to her website biography.

She spent 10 years writing and performing with the contemporary Christian band “Second Chance” and three years with the band “Robin and the Reason” before going solo.

She has led worship for Campus Crusade for Christ, military ministries and women’s ministries, according to her website. Her latest CD release is titled “CRAVE.”
